Dewalt Random Orbital sander...

Tonight i was out drinking in the garage and decided to wet sand my tinted fog lights... i've got a new grille showing up tomorrow and im putting them behind the grill. plus with the tint it blocked ALOT of the light, and i'd rather have some bright ass fogs again.

Well, after removing the clear/tint with some 500 with the sander i started wet sanding with some 1500 grit sand paper... i ran out of my 2500/3000 grit paper a while back on another project and didnt realize it.

Then i got the crazy idea... i took a micro-fiber towel and cut a ~6" square off of it. i then put a nice dab of sratch-x on the lense. Since the sander was hook and loop style, the micro fiber clinged right to it...

Then i just started polishing the lense...

Turned out pretty good, i'll see if any of my pictures turned out... (i really doubt they did... i was shaking cuz it was so cold out haha)

That was a lot of work for an easy job. I taped up my front end and just wiped mine off with a little acetone. Took 30 minutes at the most. Your right about it blocking light. My lights were shit with it on there.

Before

After

had you cleared yours? for some reason when i tried acetone it wouldnt come off... plus i had wetsanded my fogs before during and after tinting them. so even if i would have gotten the tint off, my lenses wouldnt have been flawless... (yours cleaned up great! im never going threw this process again though...)
