My Computer Won't Boot... gonzo Get In Here

again with this damn thing..... i go to boot my computer, the gateway screen appears, then the prompt screen where it detects my two hard drive appears, then it flips to the gateway title screen again, and then goes blank with a little flashing line at the top right hand corner..... very similar to that of the one on the end of every episode of doogie houser....

i have a video of what it does i am attempting to load

i have a micro sd card plugged in

i just went into the bios and changed the boot priority order to my hd and no the usb drive and it seems to have solved the issue

Mine will do that if I have removable storage higher than my raid in boot priority. It's fine if my thumb drive is bootable, but if it's not bootable it just hangs like your vid.

thats what the problem was.....

ya see, this is an out of the box machine that never used to do that, but over the last 2 and a half years i've gone mad scientist on it and now all of a sudden it's got what seems like a completely different personality

Is there a cd in the drive? External hard drive plugged in? Sounds stupid but sometimes these things happen. It also might be trying to boot the wrong hard drive. I've never liked gateway for this reason. You might have to load a windows disk and fix the master boot record or something.

I'd like to note that it's the top LEFT side of the screen lol.

But yeah, try not to leave extra usb plugs (flash drive, external hd) in when you turn off the computer. Printers and stuff are fine obviously, but the 'temporary' things you should just leave out if you aren't using them.

i really know nothing about computers aside from how to basically use them, not fix or diagnose issues....

i get the same shit at work though, one look at me and they automatically think i can fix anything with a hard drive

Really... what's wrong with a gateway?

I've had 2. I would say no problems what-so-ever, but I kinda toasted the 8800 that was in the laptop

Otherwise, the desktop I bought was for the time, high-end and cheaper than a pick-in-plop PC. Only thing I regret is the fact the i7 is locked... might try some user bios to unlock it.
