Never Been So Ecstatic In My Life!

Man believe it or not, I actually found the previous owner of my Cobra, a marine guy from up in Oceanside, he traded it in to the Volvo dealership where I bought mine. I found him on my other local stang forum and I went through all the threads he had started and found out some awesome info on things that have been driving me crazy about my car. Remember that noise I had asked about before and couldnt figure out? Turns out it was rebuilt by a guy here in San Diego with Probe pistons and the piston skirts had fallen and caused a lil slap between the piston and wall, no bueno on the flip side I found out he has FR500 Cams along with some other stuff for internals. I gave him my contact info and have a shitload of questions for him! Me so happy

Cliff Notes- I found previous owner with some detective work...

Yeah man, its just funny to me because I bought the car from the dealership and they sure as hell arent gonna release that info, and the car is far from stock so I had no idea where to start for the issues I was having...

Per the previous owner...

pistons, h&r springs, mm c/c plates & sub frames, MGW, JLT rai, spec

in for smog, ebc red brake pads, delrin irs bushings, poly diff, sub
frame, & sway bar bushings, tokico's, Steeda pulleys, sct tune, poly
motor/tranny mounts, cooling mod.

THERE should be a mustang service that links every mustang owner to his or hers pony!

i bought mine from the original owner. Some history would probably be awesome with some cars, but with a lot of other previous owners we would probably end up asking them what the fuck they were thinking.

I wouldn't want people asking a ton of questions about my old cars, I had one guy do this on a truck I sold him. Everytime it broke he would call and ask me if I knew what was wrong with it and if I had fixed that before (200k mile F250, of course I'm not going to know about it breaking lol) but if someone like 4 or 5 years down the road found me just to say they have it and had a few questions I'd be fine with it. Probably be kinda happy to know it's still on the road

I had this happen too, before my mustang, I sold my Acura Integra, to some guy bought it for his daughter (16) he called me like a year later because he had questions about the timing belt, ( which I changed myself like 4 months before I sold it) And he KNEW that because I told him. I could easily find the old owner of my mustang on facebook, but I wouldn't ever contact her for some stupid shit like that, I bought the car, its my full responsibility now, and I bought it knowing that I wasn't gonna know 100% of its past.

obviously the OP has a different story, buying your car from a dealer and finding the previous owner who had obviously built up the car is kind of cool

If I met the pervious owner of my car I would bitch slap him in a heart beat.
The ass clown almost ruined the car with really gay rims euro lights, white double windshield wipers and a ton of stupid shit to the interior oh and i can't forget the 20 stickers on it.

I'm just glad I saved her from that horrible person and gave her a good home.

I had a guy do that to me, I sold my eagle talons that was heavily modded to some young guy.
I shit you not no more than 3 hours later he calls to tell me its not working won't run and not doing shit.
I'm like I don't know what you did to it buys now your problem, the fucking guy decided 87 octane was enough for a 20 psi motor that was tuned on 94 lol and tried to rip out a professionaly installed alarm with a disabler.

All i can say is it never ran again after that.

Yeah, I could understand other people's opinions about contacting previous owners and what not, especially if you bought it directly from the previous owner. But buying mine from a VOLVO dealership and it having so many mods, I was more than curious about some things, luckily the dude is nice enough to explain some things to me, especially the part about it being completly rebuilt and forged at 67K miles and it having a 10:4 compression, the main thing I was curious about was the piston slap, I thought it was a damn spun rod bearing And best yet, he still has a shitload of the stock parts he is gonna give me in exchange for a 30 pack of silver bullet cans...Swell guy I must say Oh and I am the second owner of the car, another perk to me
