So... As some of you might remember, I lost my job a few months ago cause the store was closing. I have been looking for something's could do for a long time and move up quickly. I got offered a good job with an oil company, and took my drug screen and had my mvr looked at day before yesterday. I told the guy that I had my license suspended 5 years ago cause of excessive points. He said it wouldn't be a problem as long as it had been Atleast 3 years. I haven't had a ticket since. I called him today to see what the hold up was (after spending a few hundred on FR clothing and boots for the job) and he said that everything came back good except for the mvr. So I asked what the problem was. He said he can't hire me because of the suspension 5 years ago, and that it wouldn't drop off untill April. by then the position won't be there anymore. The ficked up thing is, I wouldn't even be doing any driving for the position I was in. He said his hands were tied, and he's been trying to get them to let me on, but they just sold to a bigger company, and the rules have changed and that's why he thought it wouldn't be a problem. This fucking sucks! I have no idea what I'm going to do now. This was a great opportunity, and something I did 5 fucking years ago screwed it up. If it was because of a DUI I might understand but FUCK!!

Damn Bro, that sucks to hear. Im so damn worried about getting out of the military based on the economy alone, much less having a infraction being held against me...I hope you kept the receipts for the gear you bought

In other words would they really have looked back over 5 years? maybe not.

Yeah, they pull your mvr no matter what. The guy really wanted to hire me. He know my step dad who is really high up in our area in the oil field business. And he called my step dad before I even applied and asked if I wanted the job.

people all the time fail to realize the negative affect their actions can have on them YEARS later. it does suck terribly, but there's really nothing you can do about it except re-apply later on or apply somewhere else. good luck.
