Seasoned Beer Drinkers

Anyone notice how a buzz off a light beer is more pronounced than a darker beer? I love myself some Yuengling Black and Tan or Guinness Draught, but every once in awhile I'll find myself hitting the light beers just to get a buzz.

Anyone else notice this? If so, why do you think this happens?

Never noticed, but I will have to do some experimenting now. In Grand Ridge, Illinois, Pabst Blue Ribbon is cheap and will get you where you're going if you know what I mean.

I always feel a more of a buzz sooner with a darker beer.

It's not exactly how quickly it's how the buzz feels for some reason. I drink so much more dark beer than I do light. The dark beer seems to be more rolled on the edges and more relaxed than the light beers. In a sense the light beers give me the same type of buzz that liquor gives me.

Dark beer definitely gives a warmer buzz than a light beer. Light beer is generally more harsh feeling to me than dark beer. I drink more light than dark though. I'm not generally a fan.

Hahahah....so true, but I typically don't drink gas station beer, so that rules that out, and my job tends to leave me drinking in other states more than Oklahoma.

I'd the same in most cases, but I have one every once in awhile. Just so happened a friend left some Bud Light in my fridge over the weekend. He intended on giving it to me anyway.

I love myself the dark beer. This is why I brought this up. I'm not the only person that notices the difference in how they feel.

whenever i drink good beer, i take my time with it and enjoy the taste. with light beer, there's no taste to enjoy (aka water) so i just pound them.

They are growing on me more and more. My friend is turning into quite the beer snob, so he always has some kind of dark beer at his house. When I'm having a beer or 2 at his house, its always something different. I usually just drink to get drunk, and dark beer fills me up too much. Plus very few bars around here have a wide variety of beers.

I tried a bud light once and I still consider it one of the nastiest beers ever.

Try Natty Light. If you can taste it, it's by far one of the worst.

$1.10 for that? I pay just a little more for my 40s.

I literally cannot stand the taste of Bud Light. Just thinking about it makes me cringe. Right now I'm on a Guinness Black Lager kick. That shit is awesome. But I agree with 69fastback-- I'd have to drink a lot to get a good buzz going on.

I drink dark beers slower, savor the taste, and enjoy it. So a 24 draught can last me a while. Lighter beers have less body and flavor, so you drink more without "feeling it" in your stomach, thus you catch a buzz quicker. That's my theory, anyways.

Come down to east tx at my age ...

Natty and Bud light are EVERYWHERE.
Or Coors light, Miller light
Shit is nasty, and if you got to a party, thats what your going to find.

Ive had so much of that nasty shit I hardly can drink it any more ... If I plan on going to a party, vodka goes with me so I actually get drunk cause I cant drink that nasty shit anymore.

I sure miss being able to down those beers like a mofo though ... easy drunk, free usually. Now even the free part doesn't matter cause I cant stand the taste anymore lol

IDK never been buzzed off of a dark beer.

I drink light beer (miller or bud) most of the time. Bud is cheap and good if im buying the alcohol for me and my friends and miller is if I have a say in what is being gotten when im not paying.

I prefer 151, captin, and on a rare occasion jack.
