Injuries: The Blood Thread

So yea, what (hopefully horrific for entertainment sake) injuries have you endured in life??

I've never broken a bone but have had a few other notable injuries. One was when I was little..helping my dad work on his car. It was an older car with the chrome bumpers in the front n back. We started in the morning so there was dew everywhere..I was standing on the bumper when I slipped...the license plate gouged the fuck outta my leg, giving me about a 6" gash right to the bone.
Another happened when I was making a new wood grip for my knife..I was using my knife to carve the shape of the insert when the knife slipped and nearly cut my entire finger off. It was one of those jagged edged blade so it ripped a lot of flesh out n left it totally shredded. A pretty sweet injury. Other than those 2, Nothing too serious. ...fell into a cactus plant once..

-Your turn-

I have a scar running down my thigh from a crabbing incident when I was a kid, but I have no bloody pictures of that one, just the horrifying memory. I do have this picture of when I got hit by a tow truck (coming to tow my car) that decided not to stop, but instead tried to crush my car and me.

When I was like 8 I was jumping on the bed and my brother pushed my into the bed post. I had to get some stitches in my head.

In like junior year of high school I passed out in the hallway and broke my collar bone on the fall, although I didn't know it was broken until a few weeks later...Arden Kill hospital told me it was a bruise

I tore my ACL and fractured my tibia. I also hit my head on the bathtub and broke it open. All i remember then was a lot of blood... and stiches.

Head wounds suck. When I came to from the injury I posted, the first thing I noticed was all the blood in my eyes. It didn't really hurt, but I was losing blood like it was going out of style.

Oh my god yeah, this was when i was younger and don't remember much, but i remember it getting in my eyes and i couldn't see much. I also remember my wisdom teeth coming out, and they took the gaus out but i was still bleeding pretty heavily, and i swallowed a good amount of blood which cause terrible cramping and almost excruciating pain. So DO NOT SWALLOW BLOOD!

Well I dont have any pictures because at the time it wasnt on my to do list lol ,my list consisted of getting to the hospital as fast as possible
First one was driving a stick in my shin ripping a hole in it and all I could see was blood and my shin bone.
They only put 8 stiches in because it was just a hole there no skin to attache.
Second one was I busted my ankle pretty good, tore the muscle in half and the tendon off the bone which caused 1 year of physio and to this day it still pops out of socket.

Ive got pictures from one of the times I injured my ankle, 2nd injury to the right ankle, ( first was breaking it, surgery, metal plates, the whole deal)

This happened on a boat, with a innertube, a robe and a whole sequence of events that ended in this disaster:

Those pictures were a few days after. ( lets not talk about the hair on my leg, seriously, I could hardly handle wrapping it up, I certainly wasn't gonna get it wet to shave it)

I've had something similar to nile in just about the same spot in my head. Mine went to the bone. Like he said, the blood that pours out of head wounds is unreal...

I opened a rusted garage door as a kid. I opened it from the bottom and caught a sliver of metal and it went right through my left index finger. Stitches.

I've been hit in the head with a baseball bat when I was like 5 or 6 by a 12 year old. Stitches.

I was bending a metal mop to try to mop better. The handle was already bent and I was bending it the other way to straighten it out. The handle snapped and pinched my left index finger basically almost taking the tip of my finger off. I have a scar that wraps around my finger.

I stepped on the case that holds my guitar effect pedals barefooted one time. The hinges are brass and can be pretty sharp if you catch it wrong. I just so happened to do just that. Instead of getting stitches I just took a knife and cut the skin off. I have scar tissue on the bottom side of my right 2nd toe.

The nastiest thing though was finding all the blood and hair still sticking to the hood latch of my car where it had dug into my head. I actually bent the hood.

You manage to get a lot of stitches, lol. What was up with your childhood that caused you to get hit in the damn head with a baseball bat?!

Me and another neighborhood kid were out hitting walnuts with a bat and I walked up on him right before he went full tilt lol.

I couldn't tell you what caused my head scar. Too much shit flying around to pinpoint it. It was the only one that required stitches, but other wounds required rocks being dug out of my arms. Also broke my collar bone and a rib or two.

I've got a backwards checkmark scar on my left cheek. No pics and a bit hard to see now. I got it ride a go kart, with my brother, when I was about 12. He drove between a couple of small tree, and a branch caught my cheek, and made a nice gash. No stitches, but it made a nice scar, that would turn red, when I got hot, for years. 30 years later and it's not as noticeable. My latest injury, was about 2 years ago. I was working on my Mustang, install my HIDs, when my razor knife slipped and sliced 2 of my fingers. I managed to call my Mother and have her come get me and bring me to the ER. When I arrived at the ER, they thought I was shot, from the amount of blood on my shirt and arms. I walked in telling them, "It's just my finger", but the hurried me to the back, then found out it was just my fingers. 13 stitches fixed me up. I still don't have total feeling in my middle finger, but it is getting better. Here's a couple of pics after the stitches.

Holy shit dude. Your razor knife 'slipped'?

Did you try to grab for it or something?

Actually it was one like this:

The little latch that holds the blade came loose and somehow the blade got me. I tried for days to figure out what happened, then wrote it off to bad luck. At least it wasn't my trigger finger.

Ahh gotcha. I actually had something similar happen a few weeks matter of fact.

I was redoing my window louvers and was cutting up some molding tape to fit the edges of the louvers and the razor got hung up. I yanked on it a tad and it gave way and came down on to my left index finger. Bled out for awhile too. Luckily it didn't require stitches. I again took a knife to it and cut the skin off that the razor didn't take with it lol. It's always my left hand getting messed up some how.

Not too too bad, but yeah, shattered distal radius.

The MOST fun was watching him torque those rods out while I'm wide awake with no numbing...

So I busted my head. Broke my radius. Broke the same bone again 2 years later about 2 inches apart from the first one, chipped a part of the bone off from the other side of my wrist that's still broken (I can't remember the name)
