Don't mean to sound like an ass, but I call BS on the mustang... at least mine... needs to go again for the Fuel TSB and both my seats need a new rear seat access lever... My dads 2006 Tundra hasn't suffered from anything and it has 12K miles compared to my 4K miles on the stang while babying it...

Funny thing too, the passenger side must of broke from heavy use (5 months of usage at least twice a day) but the drivers side has been used 5 times as max... I took it out out of curiosity and it was already missing a part and split on the bottom...

don't get me wrong... I still love the car... but its a PITA when something breaks even after you take good care of it.

Luis just cause you got a defective one doesn't mean everyone else has the same problems.

Luis, Dont feel bad, I never use mine at all, since no one rides in my back seat. And i went to reach for it about a month ago, and it broke into two pierces right in my hand... I only have roughly 8500 miles on mine...I agrre it sucks when you try to take such good care of something, like hand washing it three times a week cause vista blue shows everything ( dirt, pollen, waterspots, bird crap, ect... ) then something silly like that happens... But I still love it none the less...

im offended with ur statement.. my family has been buying fords all my life.. i expect long lasting cars...and we got them..

also u cannot compare a toyota truck to a mustang... the mustang was made light to be quick(hence plastic)...
my dads f150...wow now that thing is a beast...he somehow hit the girdle that covers the gears on the rear axle and it hit his cross bar and driveshaft.. idk how this happen..he said he couldnt see it it was dark... well long story short he hit it and the cross bar has a enormous dent sorta like it was crushed with the jaws of life... well to the ending we towed our 26 ft boat the other day with this problem... did i mention the driveshaft hits the car because it is not alligned... well idk about u but i feel 1000 % safe and i do rely on ford for their amazin vehicle that take beatings... not to mention the 2006 f150 has over 150,000 miles... and my mustang has just hit the 20,000 mile mark and i have yet had a problem because of ford... and i drive it like i stole it.. thats all im going to say... every1 has their own opinions... hope i didnt come at u guys the wrong way, not tryin to bump heads just add my view...

I have a 2003 excursion 120,000+ miles. Heavy use daily, doors, all seats, rear doors, glass gate, may sit idling or running with out being shut off up to 6 hours at a time. Since new, repairs to date are new brakes, third set of tires, rear ac repair and the lever on the passenger seat to access the third row. Total cost $2,000.00.
Also have a 2001 Lincoln (Ford) Town Car 220,000+ miles repairs include ac repair new window solenoid, brakes 3 times, rotors once, and one air ride compressor. Ten times more wear and tear than the Excursion.
In the last 12 years I had or have 16 Ford products 302, 4.6, and 5.4 (considered one of the top ten engines ever built).
Since 1995 85% of limousine, car service and shuttle services have Ford products, and of those fleets 85 to 100% of the fleet is Ford.
Just so you don’t think I’m bias I hade Volvo station wagon that I moved the contents of a 3-bedroom house with. Car also saved my life in an accident. My wife has a 2002 Nissan Quest minivan that she beats on daily. We have really abused that thing yet it still runs well.

Dont be offended. They are just junk. Trust me i work on both ford and toyota. I see how many of them come in each and everyday with the same problems. Its so easy to diagnose a ford because they all break in the same places. And a f-150 is not a "beast". The new Tunrda owns a f-150 in any aspect you challenge it to. Its just a better quality car. And what i said comes straight from the surveys as well. Toyota/lexus expect a better quality product. And when the CEL comes on because they left the gas cap loose they throw a fit. Its just an entire different person to deal with.
