I'm FREAKING the FK out!!!

Wasnt gonna make this public, but after the phone call I just got.. Im FREAKING out......

My car (03 GT) was vandalized Sunday night.. keyed the whole car, smashed both headlights, and ripped part of my front bumper cover off...

Didnt think it was too big of a deal.. maybe a $3k bill I thought...

body shop just called me, and said the estimate he wrote came back at $6200!!!

He said im probably going to be real close to insurance totalling it..

I owe like $8k on it.. If they total it, Im FUCKED!!

Last thing I need on top of all the other problems going on right now is my baby being totalled.........

If they do, granted it would be paid off.. but then Im stuck with it being all screwed up...

WTF?!

Any insurance guys here?

If the insurance totals it, you can use the money to buy it back cheap. Only visual stuff right?

But if that was my car, i would be in jail because i would have beaten their a$$es!

Hmm take the pay out, but it back and slowly replace the stuff that was fucked up.
Great way to learn about body work too.

But that sucks about your car hopefully you can find out who did it

Buy new headlights, theyre like 200$ I believe
You could probably make by w/ a fiberglass bumper for a while.
Paint may be costing alot, but 6.2k is EXPENSIVE.

If you talk to your insurance adjuster and the shop, they can help you. I was a service manager at a motorcycle dealership, and we did this all the time to save guy's bikes from going to the impound lot.

take it to another shop and get another estimate. thats a bit high. 2 bumpers a paint job, new A/C condencer, rear axle, paint, labor, rocker moldings only cost my insurance like 3.5-4k

edit: Americanmuscle.com complete roush body kit only cost 700 bucks. a set of headlights is 150 bucks. 850 in parts plus 75 bucks shipped to your house. put the stuff on yourself and just have someone paint the whole car. MUCH less than 6k. and with the roush kit you shouldnt have to trim and fit anything. should fit perfect. or a stock bumper cover should be around 200ish bucks

thats a ton of money. Did they damage your rear quarters?
They replaced my whole front bumper, passenger door, passenger rear quarter, passenger side skirt, rebuilt the passenger wheel well, and resprayed everything including my rear bumper cover for $5300

Take it to another shop. Don't have them going with parts directly from Ford. You can get a nice set of headlights on ebay for less than $90 shipped (seal them with RTV and they should last a long time). I believe AM carries bumper cover for ~$200. A good paint job will run around $4k tops (not going with any extravagant, just having it sanded down and repainted). By my figures, you should have less than $4500 worth of damage. Either that shop is hoping to make a killing off of the insurance company or is hoping they'll total out the car so they don't have to do all the work of repainting the whole car.
