Earbuds?

I know there was a headphone thread semi-recently...

Right now I'm using the buds that came with my Sansa clip, and while they're relatively comfortable with anything bassy it just sounds like there's a leprechaun flicking the earbud. It's annoying.

Is there a set of earbuds that actually has decent low-end sound reproduction? Or is that just a compromise of having such a tiny speaker? I'm not looking for much volume here, just decent sound quality while I'm listening to music at work.

I'm listening mostly to breakbeat and electronic music with a little hip-hop and jazz-electronic fusion, if it makes a difference.

I've had several sets of Skullcandy headphones and loved them. The only reason I had several sets is because I kept losing them

Really? Based on the prices, I figured Skullcandy was just trendycrap and not of any actual quality.

That's good to hear if they're actually decent.

I loved mine. They come with different rubber tips that fit into your ear. They are really good at canceling out other sounds, and the bass felt like I was sitting in a car. I really like the headphones that came with my iPhone too. I keep hearing different sounds in songs that I didn't know existed. Keep in mind, I'm no audiophile.

i'm going with the bose over ear noise canceling head phones. it only took 1 airplane ride from dubai on a civilian plane to decide that. damn noisy kids and all the durka durka language i don't know what they are saying

I like my Sony ear buds, they were like $30 and they do a great job for the gym.
And I have it cranked up with dubstep and no crackling either

I LOVE Skullcandy. Not too expensive, and great sound. Just don't get their bottom end stuff. I would love to have a set of Bose though. Just pricey.

Yeah, Sony is off-the-list. They could make the best thing on the market and sell it for $5.99, but I refuse to consciously give money to the biggest backer of the MPAA/RIAA.

If money doesn't matter much just go to google and find dre beats site.

What I use.

They have different buds that you can slip on and off to adjust for your ear too. I'm real picky on how my music sounds and for an ear bud style these seem to have a pretty decent actual frequency response.

And I've heard bad things about the Dre Beats, basically that they're *ALL* bass and really sacrifice high-end. Great for rap, but not so great for anything else.

Not that it matters anyway, as I ordered those JVCs.

Also, alot of times it isn't always the headphones that make it sound like crap. I know on my Droid I have to use a different music player so I can throw an equalizer on my music. I know alot of phones are like that. I can't vouch for Ipods since I don't own one. Might want to look into EQ's as well if they're available through your device. Alot of times they'll produce a flat curve music which in ANY system will sound like shit.

Checkout Altec Lansing's ear buds. I have a $40 pair for running/gym and I love them. Damn low bass as well.

I normally use my QuietComfort 15's though...

Ahh I love bass with my rap and rock so i don't mind them. My cousin got some and boy are they loud and clear as hell.

I would have gone with skull candy but thats just because i have used and like there products.
