Old people!!!!

Figured since it was so nice out I'd put the top down in the mustang and take the ole' lady and kids down to the beach to cruise around, enjoy the weather... build some sand castles and maybe have a beer or two to help enjoy the rest of the weekend...

as I'm coming down Gulf boulevard cruising down the gulf coast... i feel a bump almost like I went over a speed bump but there wasn't one... so I look over and there's this old bitch in an accord looking at my with this blank expression on her face like she has F'n down syndrome... she just clipped my rear bumper!!

we pull over... she says oh I scratched my car.... I'm like Fuck your car you just ruined pristine 10yr old paint on a 10yr old car with extremely low mileage (not really, I kept it inside... she was old and a woman so...)

but anyways... nobody was hurt, kids were fine and long story short my rear bumper is going to get fixed and I'm going to have some left over cash since her deductible is $1,000 and it's not going to be near that to repair and she does not want to have to pay her deductible but this old lady is paying for my inconveniences and the fact that she shouldn't be on the road anyways....

onto the damage... it could have been worse... THANK GOD! she didn't get a solid T-bone in there or anything but shit man... you spend all this time keeping a car clean and pristine for some old bitch to fuckin pull out not even paying attention and F*ck it up.

I know it's not the worst car/body damage anybody has seen but everyone dreads having their baby get scratched or damaged in ANY way.

Easy pal. Respect your elder, think if that was your own mother in that situation.

Atleast your gonna have some money left over.

Sorry about your car though. I've been there and done that though.

i think after a certain age old people should be required to take frequent driving tests. some of them are just plain bad drivers and they are so old they think they are entitled to something because they have been driving for so long.

hate it for you. i had a guy back into my rear 1/4 panel and blamed me for parking in the space i did, then he tried to drive off and the officer had to chase him through the parking lot and bang on his window for him to pull over and exchange info. a week later i got a check and bought my headers: popped the dent out by hand.

There isn't any deductible for liability. The deductible is for comprehensive and collision. Her insurance should pay all the costs to repair your car. Her car is another matter entirely.

Same shit happened to me a few years ago. Royally fucked up my mint condition, 1 of 431, car.

Lucky for you though, atleast she owned up to it. Old fuck that hit me jumped out of the car and started screaming at me about how I hit him. My insurance company fought with his for months over it before I got my deductible back.

I honestly think people over the age of 50 should have to renew their license every year, and pass a pretty stringent competency and road test. Its fucking dangerous to let half senile old folks drive 4000lb hunks of metal 70mph

I think you need to calm down a little bit. I understand no one wants their vehicle scratched. But the reality is that it's just your bumper, you can get it repaired for cheap and in no time, and you're going to come out w/ money in your pocket. It won't even go on carfax because she paid you in cash. I don't think that's anything to be upset about.

Why after a certain age? I see plenty of young people who are just plain bad drivers and just think they are entitled to the whole road. I think tests should be mandatory for everyone every 4 years when you renew your license (regardless of age).

She's probably not going to fix her car and didn't want to claim it on insurance.

This is a stupid statement. 50 really isn't considered "old" and their are drivers of EVERY age that are really bad drivers.
I bet you there are some 50 year old's that are better drivers then you. You can't really limit it to an age..

Usually the young drivers know they are fucking off though and just dont care. cops take care of them. after a couple tickets for being stupid mommy and daddy are going to get tired of paying them. the older folks are more dangerous by far.

by old i mean late late 60's-early 70's and up...my dad is 62 and has no problem driving a thousand miles at a time

Intentional or whatever, that doesn't mean they should be exempt from the test. I still know plenty of young people who are legit bad drivers. I think ALL people should be required to test every 4 years when you renew your license.

Tell me how you really feel...

But seriously I'm all for way more stringent driving tests for all ages, but that costs money.

I didn't say 50 was necessarily old, but there are plenty of sicknesses relating to age that occur that can start at close to or even below 50. This society loves to pick definite, strict lines of judgement, so I was just following precedent and picking an age that I saw fit.

But thank you for the stupid insult.

my licence is good for 8 years...and i dont think it would be a bad idea to have to do a driving test every 8 years however i would be fucking pissed if they failed me for something stupid like accidently spinning tires on gravel trying to pull out of a parking lot. we all know the dmv is usually full of a bunch of pricks.
