Girl problems! Well, more like girl questions.

Anyways, long story short. Got absolutely hammered on Saturday with some friends and wound up sleeping with my best friend who was also plastered. I even asked her where this put us and she smiled and said "good friends". Then we kinda complimented each other. Lol

This is the kinda best friend that we knew each other in high school and had a mutual liking for each other, but I never did anything about it because I was a senior and she was a freshman, and after I graduated, over two years went by with no communication and then I finally found her on Facebook back in August and we've been like peas and carrots since. At first, we tried dating, but I was a little put off by a new habit that she started, so it kinda fizzled out, but she understood. Then on New Years I started picking up the same habit, so I can see where she's coming from and I don't look at the habit like its the devil or anything anymore.

HERE'S THE THING:
Obviously I'm interested in a relationship, but I'm perfectly content staying best friends. On Monday I hung out with her before she left for a trip to South Carolina, and when we said goodnight she said something along the lines of "Drive safe (She knows how I treat backroads.

), and text me when you get home. I love you."

When she said that I was like

and I said it back because I don't have a problem telling a best friend that I love them, and she didn't say "I'm in love with you." which is 1000x different and I would have given her a different response. I'm not sure what, but it would have been different. Do you think she said it to further our connection or do you think she said it to establish the best friend boundaries?

Aaaaand go. (Also, our relationship since after Saturday hasn't changed at all and we still talk as much as before.)

I agree with nameless. My hubby is my best friend and although we haven't known each other since high school we are still best friends. It's great being in love with your best friend and having so much fun together every day.

I've never been in your situation so you should probably just disregard anything I say on this thread. But I think you should just see how things go. If things start to move towards a serious relationship then go for it but if you get the feeling that she still wants to just be friends then keep it that way. You said it doesn't matter to you if you stay friends so just lay low and keep things the way they are and see if she shows more interest in a relationship.

The habit is... Illegal. I made a thread about it in the Underground section but it was deleted because it broke MMs rule. That's should be enough information to explain was it is.

I have pictures of us, but once again, I don't want to post them because they break MM rules.
