Everyone says they'll stop at one, including myself However I am pretty much done until I get my career going and find out if half sleeves need to be covered or not (depends on what department I end up getting a job with). I'd like to turn my skull into a half sleeve and I want to get an American flag on my ribs (which I can do no problem, but my new gun hobby is going to eat up all my money).

I got my first tattoo when I was 18. My brother, dad, and I used to always go to the annual car show in Deadwood but it was rained out leaving us with nothing to do. My dad and brother already had tattoos and kept asking when I was going to get one so I jumped at the opportunity to get mine done. I got the three nautical stars on my forearm because the nautical start represents guidance and protection and three of them to represent my dad, brother, and me. All three of us have this tattoo now.

After that I got the treble cleff and bass cleff as a gift from my ex wife while visiting her hometown. I thought about covering them, but music has a huge part in my life so I kept them. I also got the sleeve started, it really doesn't represent anything but an expression of art.

A lot of people will tell you sleeve tattoos will ruin any hope of having a professional career. They're wrong, dead wrong. I've been in banking for over 3 years and haven't had any problems. Yeah, they need to be hidden but that's all part of the choice you made to get tattoos.
The last tattoo I have is a phoenix skeleton. It was originally going to be a phoenix to represent my life going to shit the year following my divorce and the rise from my former self to who I am today. I ended up going with the skeleton because I found the phoenix to be a little played out. In retrospect it is a good representation of going through hard times and rising above it but you will always have scars.

(still not done)

Being in the professional world my whole life, I always wondered to myself what kind of jobs people with sleeves or excessive tattoos are able to get. Obviously a tattoo artist, but what else have people landed?
