So Im doing my senior project on tattooing.
Anyone have stories to there tattoos/why they got them?
good and bad experiences?
and would any1 mind if I used there quotation in my paper?


Also Im buying a shader/outliner any suggestions?

I have no big reason for getting any of my tattoos. I got my first when I was in Hawaii (16 years old) and just sort of fell in love with them. I've got 4 tattoos at the moment (one on each shoulder, one between my shoulder blades, and one on my right tricep). Haven't really had any bad experiences with tattoos. The artists generally seem a little intimidating but once you get them talking they're generally really nice guys. Oddest tattoo experience I've had was my latest one. The artist absolutely refused to let me watch him work and wouldn't let me see it until he was finished. That tattoo is actually my favorite and it turned out really, really well. Feel free to use anything I said in your paper if you like.

As far as buying a tattooing setup, don't plan on tattooing ANYONE except yourself for a long time. Get yourself a bunch of oranges and practice on them for a long time before you attempt anything on yourself. I've watched a friend tattoo himself (I even helped with his equipment when he did his first one) and it doesn't look easy considering how shitty his first tattoo turned out. If it turns out to be something you want to make a career out of, try to get yourself an apprenticeship at a shop. Also, the tattoo machine needs to go through an autoclave before you can tattoo different people (and needs to go through after each tattoo). Needles CANNOT be reused between people. Amateur/basement tattoo artists spread a lot of nasty diseases (specifically BBPs) because they don't have the proper equipment to sanitize their tools.

Ive got 3 total, a big ass tribal blue phoenix with orange flames on my ribs to my chest and shoulder blade. My last name(1st tat) across my back in some wicked ass font I seen, and a memorial tattoo on my left arm for my late grandpa. Its a naked pinup girl setting in a wine glass with two dice showing 7 and it says Man's Ruin. I took a picture of it on my grandpa and my artist back home in Kentucky did a PERFECT job. Spot on!

I got my first tattoo when I was 17, it was a tribal pheonix on the back of my shoulder.
The reason I went and got that tattoo was because of the hard times I was going through and the symbol of the pheonix was just what I needed to lift my spirit up.

It was a great expirence and thats why I have had more done, soon i will finish my half sleeve and will continue to add more through the years.

My first tattoo... I was18 yrs old, tripping on acid, sitting at the mall smoking a cigarette next to a no smoking sign. All that night, I was tripping about that no smoking sign. About two o'clock that morning I ended up in a tattoo shop getting a no smoking sign tattooed on my shoulder. I was smoking while getting it telling people "I'm a fucking hypocrite" the whole time.

This was also the first tattoo that I ever got covered up. LOL

My first tattoo I was 20, just got it cause I've always liked nautical stars, drawing them all over anything I get my hands on. Only cost me 20 bones. Now that I have a job I'm gonna start inking it up ASAP.





I'm getting this one on my other wrist tomorrow...

98fire, no lie man those lilies on your arm look sick. the artist done a damn good job. i would get a full sleeve if i could but i dont feel like wearing long sleeves year round

I got my first tattoo right after I turned 23, never could figure out what I wanted, now I have 1 and 3/4, I ended up getting an Irish cross on my right forearm. Right now I'm working on a 3/4 sleeve on my left arm i have 400 bones and about 12 hours into it so far and I probably have another 6 hours to go, it's a zombie sleeve i do't have pics of it yet cause it's still getting worked on

Got mine when I was 18 on my right shoulder blade. It's tribal I guess, I drew it myself (after taking inspiration from another tattoo). Everyone tells me it looks like a scorpion, so I might get more added to it. I'm thinking a similar shape but in orange in like a yin and yang fashion. BTW, it hurt real bad, but I'm pretty tough. I only cried for the first 20 minutes then I fainted.

I actually plan on doing tattoos on fake skin and getting one for my project.

I have five. The first ones were for my 20th birthday. They are on my hips. Ones a music note surrounded by stars and the other is a star surrounded by music notes because I used to sing twinkle twinkle little star to my son when he was tiny. My third is the word love in Pashto on my neck and the accent marks are hearts. My hubby designed it for me. My fourth is a teddy Roosevelt quote that says " when you reach the end of your rope, tie a knot in it and hang on" just to help remind me no matter how bad you get just to hold on and push through. My fifth is a magnolia flower on my back. I had just gotten engaged and my mom got married around magnolias and it's my grandmas favorite flower. I'll try to put up pics.

My first tattoo,


It says Blessed, then cursed upside down.
Got it when I was 18. Reasoning behind it was that at the time I had been in a really difficult struggle with depression. Blessed was upright because that is what everyone sees, I seemed to be a normal kid with an okay life, and I am thankful for that.
Cursed for what everyone doesn't see (hence why its upside down on my back, hard to see unless you're looking for it) with the depression and everything I have been through.

My first ink was when I was home my freshman year. I was humping around on some black chick and her brother was a real militant cocksucker. He never said anything about a white dude balling his sister but you could tell it didn't sit well with him so one Saturday night, I went to a tattoo shop and had a black panther tattooed on my upper arm.

I've added a few to my collection over the years but that one will always hold a special place in my heart.

I got my first tattoo the week before I left for college when I was 18. I decided on a modern celtic cross with a triqueterias fill and my grandparents' initials in the circle. I chose to get this to honor my grandparents and show my pride for being irish. While I was getting a tattoo, there was an earthquake and the walls were shaking. I thought I was passing out but I obviously didn't. The artist didn't mess up and it came out great. Steve Martin of Under The Gun is the only guy who will ink me from now on. In regards to how it felt, It was a burning sensation where it seemed like someone was dragging hot metal across my back.

This one shortly after the one on my tricep. Again, got a lot of shit for it but I love it.


And I got this one last year (I was 20). Kind of a spur of the moment idea to go get a tattoo with a buddy but I'd known what I wanted to get for a long time. This one is now my favorite.


The last 3 are all pics when the tattoos were fresh. They looked cleaner now and all healed nicely.

I got a nautical star in my left inner forearm it was my 18th bday. Wanted one forever. Said I'll stop at that one. I'm working in sleeves now

Right now I've got each inner forearm, each inner bicep, left ribs, under left elbow and just above penis... Only one that hurt.
