Wth, anyone get Tonsil Stones?

I thought the feeling in my throat was a piece of food jammed somewhere, i look in the mirror and i have 2 tonsil stones. Sounds nasty, and it is. Anyone else ever got them and how did you remove it?

I have gotten them and they are DISGUSTING. If I know one is in there, I usually cough like hell until it comes up. Sometimes, sneezing will bring them out (although I don't know anyone who can sneeze on command to get it out). One time I tried to dig one out with a q-tip....didn't work so well...

I've had very tiny ones. I just coughed a few of them up one day and almost puked when I was reading about them lol.

I used to get small ones. I remember the first time I coughed one up, I smelled it and it smelled terrible.

I've since started gargling every time I brush my teeth. They've stopped.

Get them all the time. Get a tooth pick (slightly longer plastic) the wood one is too sharp and if you don't know what you're doing will pierce your tonsil a bit.

I've dealt with it for years, used to grab a wire clothes hanger, unravel the bastard and reach in. It's very common according to my doctors (freaked out as a kid) but everyone gets them. It's what causes sore throats, us with awareness can get teh food particles out before they begin to make the throat sore.

Only way NOT TO GET IT according to doctors is to have tonsils removed. Otherwise, everyone and I mean everyone gets it. Most don't realise and swallow in their sleep or food.

I use to have them, and what I did is go to the local drug store get a small syringe and fill it with warm salt water and flush them out.
Did the job without hurting my tonsils with toothpicks or sharp objects

I've always had sinus problems and that back of the throat drip crap is what causes it too. Never actually hurt my tonsils either, just telling the OP to be very careful. Suggested plastic so he wouldn't hurt himself. I'm an old pro at this now, and I don't have them all the time (once every couple years) but the point is I know what they are and how to remove them safely.

I remember being in the OPs shoes and just finding out. It was weird and I thought I was the only one (embarrassed and helpless) then I went to the doctor and found out everyone gets it. no biggie. The human body is amazing and weird at the same time! Those holes are stopping that crap from going down your throat. Every little thing has a purpose.

I've have swollen tonsils, (mine are above average size) and I almost want strep enough to get them removed.

I actually get them ~ once a month. I've got real bad problems with my sinuses (get migraines and such constantly). I've tried using a bobby pin to pull them out, but my best tool is my tongue. I've got an abnormally long tongue, and can reach back there and push around on my tonsil until they pop out.

I would much rather have tonsil stones then the kidney stone's i've been fighting for over a year now

And until just now, i didnt even know what they were. i always just pop them out with my tongue and spit them out. A couple of times i've spit them into my hand to see what they were. And i've noticed that while messing with them, it will make my breath smell worse. Now i know why.
