For a brief time I had both my Cobra and SS and going from one to the other was a trip because of how differnet they are. The position you sit, the shifter location, etc. But that doesn't make either one a bad choice.

If you don't like the camaro or trans am you can always sell it and get back into Mustang. There are plenty of them out their to be had.
Both my dad and brother have f-body lt1 firebirds but only bad thing about theirs are automatics but I love driving them. Been driving my dads firehawk the past couple weeks and love it
Go check out the one link I posted earlier, that one is beautiful.

Honestly, I've never been a huge fan of the LT1 cars. Looks or performance. The optispark just kills me. And never cared for the pointy front end. But 69, 98-02, and 10+ are really the only years for the camaro that I lust over as far as looks and potential for performance.

I texted the guy about that 98 WS6 clone and I asked his bottom dollar and he said $7k-$7500. That's one hell of a deal. Hopefully can sell my car quick and buy that trans am.
He said the engine was out of a 2000 SS I think and he told me the engine has 350hp? I didn't think those engines had that much.
I really like the Tremec Borg Warner T56 tranny also

Do it. Even tho it's a clone, it's still a bad ass ride. I like Mustangs and Ford is in my blood, but I seriously considered a WS6. I just like them.

As for the new Camaros, they're too big and bulky for me. The new Mustangs are bigger too, which is prob why I don't like the 05-10 Body style. The 2011 and up though, I like.

He's probably just going by the Corvette numbers but that's about right. The Z28/base Trans Ams were rated at 305 the SS and WS6 were rated at 325 and the vettes at 350 but an LS1 is an LS1. They all make the same power. As someone already stated the base f-bodies were way underated. It's not uncommon to see a bone stock Z28 make 300+ to the rear wheels. That's about 350 flywheel. Same as the vettes.

Nice find. I say do it, course I'm biased.

I would love to have a termi in my driveway though. But financially speaking it wasn't my smarter choice.

RK, 03-04 Cobra or ls1? Since you've driven both what would you go with if you had to do it all over again?

I love the simple sleek design of my camaro. My car doesn't rattle at all, and IMO my car sounds a lot better than ass

I'm 6'3 and I have no problem looking out my window, like RK was saying, the way you are seated in the car it's very comfortable. My car with LT's, 3" catted y-pipe and aftermarket muffler made 363 rwhp. With a cam and tune, I could easily see over 400+.

Someone already answered it, but yes those are ccw505's on the trans am. I'd give my left testicle for them.

Just do your homework before you buy. The biggest problem with f-bodies is that they are quickly beaten on. So don't buy someones junk, really look at the car, test drive them. The BIGGEST favor you can do for yourself though, is find a car that has had the rear end (10 bolt) swapped out for a fab 9" or moser 9". The 10-bolt is a p.o.s

Thanks for all the info MeMz. So do you think the guy with the WS6 clone Trans Am was right by saying the car had 350hp?
What muffler do you have, and do you have any videos?
Yeah, I heard the rearends are pretty fragile on these cars. How much would it be to do that to the rearend?

The Cobra. All day. Even if it's just by a small margin, it beats the f-body in pretty much all the categories that matter to me except for looks which I have to give a tie.

There's the obvious things like the supercharger and stronger short block with all the potential (but far from bulletproof like many fanbois would have you to believe). The Cobra has a smoother ride. Sounds better. Has that massive Mustang aftermarket and community, and yet the SVT 'mystique' (not trying to be a prick with that statement). It's always nice when people comment or ask about the Cobra. And on those very rare occasions when I have her nice and cleaned up it's a guarantee that someone will have a comment. My SS got it's fair share of compliments but not like the Cobra does.

The only thing I almost gave the edge to the f-body on was the interior. But the Terminator seats are some of the best I've seen in an American sports car. So I still have to give that to the Cobra also.

I can't wait until I can afford a termi. I figure that I sell my car, get a trans am or SS, and keep that for a few years while I finish senior year, then go to UTI for automotive, work in a dealership a couple years, maybe go to high performance school then buy a termi lol maybe by then I can have enough money for a cobra

All subjective I guess. I've never in my life heard an f body/corvette/gto that sounds good. Ever. They just send terrible, and the interiors....ugh. The overall build quality is just poor.

69Fastback, is upset because he never got his hands on one of those 04-06 GTO's while they were being made. He is also upset because he can't handle the power from the almighty LS1.
