im too skeptical or just plain wrong

okay so this 18 year old at work who is a senor in high school is buying a new car.. well its a porsche 911 and looks like he is getting it for 17,000
i havent talked to him about it personally but ive just been keeping up with his facebook statuses.

the latest one says that its going to be the longest three weeks of his life.
so im assuming he gets it in three weeks.

now really really think he is just getting scammed, im pretty sure he bought it off of ebay.

not to sure how he can afford it because even working 40 hours a week he is in highschool and only makes about 50 cents more than min wage.

well thing that makes me think that i could be wrong about it being a scam is because every time i say it probably is the group at work will tell me that im wrong, and that kind of makes me second guess myself.

nah he isnt a drug dealer, he has no time to do that, and anyway i think questions like that would pop up in my mind if he bought one that cost 50,000 not one that is 17.....

His parents might be helping him. Dude my frist car when i was 17 was a Grand National gnx. It was a gift given to my by a guy i help in a senior citizen home. He left it for me in him will. I played cards with him for 3 weeks and he left me his baby. It had 8,000 orignal miles on it and had plastic on the seats. I didnt know what the hell i had. I traded it for a 95 supra a year later....... People are just lucky sometimes. But i was a dumb ass to get ride of it......

Saving 17k is not that unreasonable..I bought my car for 20k when I was 19.
You didn't mention the mileage, but yea, I've never see a 911 for that price. Hopefully it isn't a scam..
