You guys are making a classic assumption...

For now, physics and biology dictate that once something is "dead", it is dead. No blood pumping=no movement, no method to transmit signals and nutrients to the muscles to keep them moving, etc. So... If the zombies rise from the dead weather by some form of virus, magic, or extra dimensional science, we can no longer count on decomposition, bugs and bacteria eating them, etc.

So if it's a bite only infection, it's still fairly simple to "kill" them with a shot to the head (assuming it works). Waiting for them to rot, freeze, or be eaten by bugs and bacteria is off the table.

Or maybe it will behave exactly like the article said. We just have to wait and find out. BTW headshots are hard to get and up close the transfer of there blood in a radious would infect anyone with a cut.
