I can use correct grammar and punctuation though.

If it makes a difference I was on the school editorial freshmen/sophmore year and spend alot of time messing around online for information on almost everything.

Lmfao. I pride myself in good grammar as you can see every one of my posts, particularly in my build thread. Some posts on here are literally painful to read. I would be willing to help, however I still don't think I fully understand. Does it have to be articles about specific things that we have done ourselves?

Also, writing on an iPod is no excuse for bad grammar

And to clarify for those considering this, and this will sound harsh but it's not meant to be:

Do not put in for this if you can't put the time in. We have had a LOT of people over the years put in for things, and then for various reasons nothing happens. Please understand that the staff here puts in a LOT of time trying to organize and run this stuff, and for the TECH exchange in particular, Ryan Weems has done more work, and been through more than you can imagine in the process of trying to get TE off the ground. Similarly, JakeM has been one of the few putting the consistent effort in to create material for TE. Josh has done Yeomen's work for ROTM, the front page, countless articles... all from a boat in the middle of nowhere.

Now I understand that we all do this for free, and you might think, "Well damn I don't want to live on the computer." Well we're not asking you to.

What can I tell you. This is what it comes down to. The staff here, all of us, do what we do for MM, and are on here so much and so often because we love Modded Mustangs. If you feel the same and feel like you are interested in something like this, by all means put in for it. But if you think it's just because it'll be neat to have a TE badge like JakeM does or to become part of the staff, please don't bother. Ryan has a lot on his plate in order to run this properly, and he needs active people working with him to make this fly.

Many people are interested in seeing MM hang on to it's technical roots, and even seeing that grow. Well, put your money where your mouth is if you sign up for this. This can be a great thing for the growth and success of MM if we can it off the ground.

I just read through all of AF_Don's information and stickies in the TECH Exchange. I'm going to ask for a little clarification, since I'm not terribly familiar with the section.

There are three types of articles, all of which must include pictures according to the correct? I see articles that do not have pictures so I'm asking if this is a requirement.

"Quick Tip = 250 words minimum + 2 photos minimum
Article = 500 words minimum + 5 photos minimum
Feature = 1000 words minimum + 10 photos minimum"


I am also curious as to what articles you guys are looking for. I have friends who have written articles online for money and the websites that contract those articles always have a list of topics to write about. Don has a list of suggested topics, but are there suggestions or things people need written up or have requested? I ask this because the internet is full of all sorts of write-ups for mustangs as I'm sure we all have spent lots of time looking for how to install parts.

Maybe this is more a suggestion or something to consider, but I'd like to see the tech exchange at MM stand out and actually be something useful to our members and visitors. The usual write-ups can be found a number of places online, but we need something to make this one stand out so that people are linked here from all over the web. Could we have a suggestion box thread or sub-forum or whatever its called where people can request articles and then people can take them on and write them?
It is difficult for me to just think of topics off-hand that I could write about that would be useful to people that I haven't already seen on other forums, websites or threads here. However, if a topic were suggested or requested, it wouldn't be too hard to search our forums to find information and pictures, ask for permission to use the pictures and make a write-up.
