What is the diameter of stock GT tips? Does the length of the tips affect the sound?

I really think their bigger than that, but im not sure. The piping for the exhaust might be 2 1/4, but I doubt the tips.

I think the factory ones on mine were 2 1/2. I put 4 inch MBRP's on it. If you really need to know, I can head out to the shed and measure the old factory tips.

Im thinking about putting 3 inch tips on my car. Id like to know the diameter foe the GT's for reference. I plan on cutting my bumper like a GT, but im not sure yet.

98 and back were 2 1/4 on GT's, Cobra's I believe were 2 1/2. 99 and up were 2 1/2 on GT's, not sure about Cobra's. Not sure about 05 and up either, I swapped mine shortly after I bought it.

The inlet pipe on my factory mufflers is 2 1/2 inches, and the tip is actually 3 inches.

Ok, thanks for looking. That is what I plan on using, 2.5 inlet, 3 inch tips. The tips im looking at are 12 inches long. Any objections?

Go for 4 inch tips...3 just doesnt cut it.

But its on a 6! Go with the 3 inch on the six unless you have a GT bumper to stick them through!

he is gonna do cutouts 3 inches looks too small. What kind of engine the tips are on doesnt matter.

Yer. I have 4" rolled tips on the MBRP's, they look far better than the factory 3 inchers.
