Ok so i am 16 and there is a law that says i am not aloud to drive ppl under the age of 25.

I think this is the most ridiculous law. And if i can prove to my mom in a fake court situation i can drive ppl around and she wouldnt care and would let me.

So i am trying to grab some info to prove her wrong.
There are many things i can think of off the top of my head but i still need more.

Any ideas?

we have a law similar to that here it states noone under i belive 18 or 21 is allowed in the car with a driver who is under a permit licence and im a fan of it. theres tons of statistics that show that stupid young kids paying too much attention to their friends and not the road causing accidents not just minor but deadly and everything in between

but check this out...

there are 10x more deaths from smoking then there are from car deaths.

So how come were going to try and cut some of those deaths down by limiting young people to drive others when were just watching x10 the amount die from smoking and not saying a word about it.

Also everyone knows that gas is a limited resource and obviously it is decreasing extremely fast.
So if instead 4 teens drive in one car instead of 4 drive by them selves we would be saving 400% more gas!!!! More money!!! and there would be less polution.

And then the law says its a distraction. Well cell phones are distractions. Other cars next to you are distractions. Lights are distactions...

I just dont understand the law....
I have alot more stuff to that i dont have the time to explain now.

But i cant wait to get pulled over for it and go to court. it will be some fun.

Well, me driving since I was 16, having friends in the car = to peer presure to race your car. Trust me, I've been through that a couple of times... can't say I regret doing that... but it sure was stiupid hiting 115 with 4 people on my old car. With a car on your hands come great responsability....

but there are laws against smoking. As well as law suits. When I started in '96 I could buy a pack for 1.98 plus tax. now its just shy of $6.00. AZ just recently went smoke free statewide. I can't even smoke within 25 feet of a public entrance and i'm 27. I am an adult and no matter how many birthdays I have I will always be screwed.

Other states have laws against cell phone usage while driving as well. I very much agree with this because it is a distraction. Minors in a vehicle being driven by a minor are most likely a distraction to the driver. Actually minors in a vehicle are typically a distraction to the driver regardless of his or her age. Maybe they should be banned from cars until they are 25...

just wait, once you get a pulled over for speeding and you have your friends in the car your gonna pay for it no matter if your mom says its ok to. the law says no.

and i got my first speeding ticket two days after i got my mustang and i wasnt even drivng it. i was in our 98 expedition and was looking back and talking to my friends and that part of the road was downhill and i still had my foot on the gas not paying attention and there was a cop coming down the road. all because i was paying attention to my friends

my brother flipped his car becasue he was paying attention to his buddies. he was speeding, ran off the road hit a canal bank flipped it sideways 6 times before wrapping it around a tree. spent 3 days in the hospital for head injuries and the longes his friends were in there was a week

I drive my friends around all the time... never got pulled over b4, but i've been followed.... they know who i am.... but maybe they dnt think they can do anything cuz my plates are NY's

when i got my liscense the law in my state is that u cant have more than 1 person thats not family in the car and unless ur coming home from work u cant drive after 10 pm or some crap, didnt follow those rules anywase always had like 4 ppl in the car at 2 am, that was for like the first 6 months or something, had my liscense almost 2 yrs now and no tickets or accidents :award

First you need to prove that 16 year olds, aka unexperienced drivers, can deal with the distractions of their friends to get from A to B safely.

Statistically speaking... it's just not true. Regardless of whether or not you can prove it to your mom, you're going to be fucked if you get pulled over.

and yeah I have to agree with the majority...Driving takes experience...you have to be able to make split second decisions and be able to react at the drop of a dime...Young drivers just don't have that kind of reaction time and having your friends in the car will only increase that time...it could end up badly.

the law isn't necessarily about decreasing the number of deaths, it's about protecting people's rights. the law was created so there is less of a chance of teens getting in car accidents in which they can hurt themselves as well as other drivers. when other licensed drivers are involved in an accident they did not cause their right to drive down the road safely is infringed upon. there are already laws preventing people from smoking in areas where it could cause harm to people other people than the smokers. the smokers are only hurting themselves which is fully within their rights

Man I have a really similar law here in CO! I just turned 16 a month ago and well I support the law! Man a car is a killer machine and a deadly weapon. Whoppdy do if you have to wait 6 months do drive some one some where! Its not that big of a deal! And if you want you can always break that law, because here in CO you have to be doing something illegal to get pulled over and then if you are pulled over with somebody in the car you get in even more trouble!!
