the space shuttle was re-routed to land at my base, Edwards AFB, and we just watched it land about 5 minutes ago. it was pretty cool

The causeway was a 2 lane road in Titusville, Fla. that lead to Cape Canaveral (Now Cape Kenedy). It was as close as the general public could get to watch the moon launch. I saw many Apollo and Gemini launches from there....cool stuff...back then.
