The only thing thats the same is the fact that it's a Subaru and uses the same chassis. Otherwise, the engine, transmission and everything about the drivetrain makes it a completely different car.

No, a WRX has the same engine and evrything, just less PSI on the turbo, remove that limitation and you have a STI, ont know of any other difference between the STI and non STI.

a 6Cyl is never the same as v8

That's because you don't know what you're talking about, Luis.

The 02-05 WRX had a plain 2.0L Turbo engine, 5 speed manual or 4 sp auto, AWD.

The 06+ WRX has a 2.5L turbo engine, 5 sp, awd.

The STi has a 2.5L with a bigger turbo, 6 spd manual and a DCCD enabled drivetrain.

They use the same 2.5L block, sure. But the build is completely different.

They're not mass produced on one line and then carted off in two separate directions.

the sti has a larger engine, larger turbo, upgraded suspension, and other odd and ends.

hey si the sti from 02-05 was 2.5L and the wrx was just 2.0 right?

There was no USDM STi from 02-04 (or 05 I can't remember when it was brought stateside).

What I do know is the Japanese were importing USDM STi's to Japan because they're better than the JDM versions.

honestly, I thought the engine was the same on both and the RS was the non turbo with a little engine.

I have a friend with a 07 WRX wagon pushing 400+ hp... so.

The 2.5RS is the same block also, but it's not built for the turbo like the wrx and STI engines are.
