So any Florida folks out there. If so can someone please tell me which you feel is the best city and why, because we have Florida on our list of places to move to and i wanted to get someone first handed thoughts. Thanks everyone

PS. If there is any cons to living in Florida, can you guys mention them.

Orlando sucks large ones. That's where I live now. I just got back from the Keys and it's great down there. If you have the chance, you should try living on one of the keys, Key West is a blast. Everyone there is so much friendlier than here in Orlando, the women are hot and there are plenty of beaches. The biggest con to living in FL is the cost of living. It's rather outrageous in the keys, and still very high here in Orlando.

I somewhat agree with you 03 R Code. I lived in Clermont just west of Orlando. I moved out of there because the traffic and population went through the roof! I worked in Orlando 20 miles from home in Clermont. When I first moved in, it was a 20 minute drive to work down hwy 50. 1 year later it was nearly an hour! It was stupid! People got rude and impatient. I ended up moving farther south.

I lived in Riverview for a while too. There's alot of "immature" crime there with 2 million single moms that have no idea what mischief their kids are getting into. Alot of vandalism. Got tired of that and moved farther south yet again.

I now live in what I think is the best spot of all in Florida. I'm not in a city and close to I-75/275 which is kick ass. The neighborhood is walled in so I dont get hardly any crimes.

Theres alot of pros to this area like no state taxes on income. The economy is good and there are tons of jobs. The roads are in great shape. No snow obviously. The cost of food/electric/gas is reletively low compared to other places in the country. Housing is expensive but they are trying to fix that with new apartments for young workers.

Ive lived alot of places around the country and Im staying here. My kids have a good shot at good schools and a decent future.

I will say this... stay away from Bradenton, Palmetto, Riverview and the general city of Tampa and St Petersburg. Find a smaller town away from the big ones. Look in Sarasota... if I wasnt in this town, thats where Id be. Alot of old people but theres alot of money and its a beautifull city. Lots to do and low crime.

While driving back from the keys yesterday we went through a town called Ft. Pierce, I think that was it. It looked like a booming town with tons of industry.

theres a lot of little towns like that around here. Alot are filled with migrants which in my opinion is not bad. In fact, in my town Id say im in the minority being a white boy. It helps the industries because most of them are related to the citrus and agriculture business which is seasonal down here. Most people dont realize that in central florida, the biggest industry is tomatoes ( well, actually, I think the phosphate mines are first now). And its not just picking tomatoes and oranges either. Its all the supporting jobs like processing the fruit, building and making boxes for shipment and so on.

My point is ( Ive started rambling) if you got even a small amount of skills, you can get a good supervisor/leadership role with a lot of the companies and the pay can be decent.

fort Pierce is in Central florida right? Like South of Lakeland??

Nope, it's on the east coast, north of Jupiter and south of Melbourne.

Ft Pierce is on the east coast. Between Port St Lucie and Vero beach. Right on the beach. And might I say those citrus towns smell.

Kinda far south for that, I've got 2 ocean kayaks, and on the next launch me and a buddy plan on rowing out to the middle of the big pond next to the launch pad. I'm not sure how close we can get, but it should be 2 of the best seats in the house.

Thats the shizizzle! I'd pay for that! I seen the last one ( the night one) launch all the way over here on the Gulf. It was so awesome. All that power man. The statistics and math behind that machine are God like.
You can see it here but you can't hear it. Im going to drive east next launch and get close enough to here it.

You can get pretty close. Well they clear everything within a 3 mile radius of the launch pad. Ever been over there. The VAB is awesome. Well considering I was like 18 or 19 which was 23 years ago, it might not be there anymore. It was the building they built the Saturn V in. They assemble the shuttle in it. they said they have special a/c units to keep clouds from forming in it, and you can put ten football fields on the roof. The things you can remember for 23 years.

Ft pierce is not as far away as you are in Tampa area. Its only like 90 miles so I bet that night launch would have been awesome.

I'm all up for a meet and cruise to a shuttle launch. If we all do that though I probably won't bring my stang, just the buddies blazer so I can carry the kayaks and row out to see it!

I really am concidering moving down there. Biggest problem is that I probably couldn't afford my stang any longer... That's not an option! It costs a ton, if I could find a way to live there and afford my car I would do it in a heart beat!

I plan on going back soon, if I get any free days next month I'll probably drive down, even if it's only for a couple of days. When do you plan on being there?
