Another life lesson learned...

Don't drive on drag radials if you can't afford to fix your car everytime it rains...

I was heading home from work when it started raining on me. I've driven in the rain with these tires for about 6 months now and never had a problem. I guess I got a little too sure about my driving abilities and was going just that much too fast. I was traveling about 35 in a 40 going around a slow easy curve in the road. Cought a puddle with the back outside tire and it started to squiggle, I immediately let out of the gas and tried to correct, but it was too late. I pulled 2 donuts and on the second, the back drivers side tire jumped the curb of the median and dug deep into the grass, this caused the front end to come around with major force and the rim slapped the curb with fury. Busted off a large chunk of aluminum, and the alignment is now about as straight as San FranCisco! My buddy came to follow me home and was watching the rear end, he called and told me it was wabbling on both sides.

I'm taking it to Lamotta Performance in the morning and having everything looked over. Sucks large nuts 'cause I was planning on getting some head and cam work done in a month or so...

I'll have pics up in the morning sometime. That front rim is JACKED!

I hear ya dude I dropped 1600 on getting my front drivers side fixed but I fucked up the spindle, shock and axle. Sucked big time but gave me an excuse for new rims.

The hell with me being o.k.... If I file an insurance claim on my health my rates won't go up! If I file a claim on my car my rates will almost deffinantely go up! I can heal for less than the car can be repaired... The shop I took it to is thinking that the axle tubes might be bent. They're gonna put it up in the air tomorrow and take a good look see.

The only sliver of light I can see in this is an excuse to upgrade to 31 splines and start running slicks at the track.

IF the axle tubes are o.k. I'm looking at about $900 in parts... This includes new front spindle, and the other part that's bent that I can't think of the name of, and new axles and a new carrier. I have no idea of what axle tubes and installation would cost.

I heard about this like right after it happened. I wanted to call to find out all the damage but I figured you were taking phone calls for a tow truck. I'm glad your ok though. Lesson learned. And whats this heads and cam work you were hiding from us? Hopefully this all works out... and if you need a ride up to lamotta or back, you know who to call.

hey man, something similar happened to me this week. last saturday i was driving down to hilton head, sc, and in ridgeland, sc, (right off 278 and 462) the road had rain water sitting on it... i started to slide into oncoming traffic, gassed it and corrected it to my lane and ended up in the mud on the side of the road. no damage to car or wheels fortunately; i just had a guy in a truck excavate me from the mud and i was on my way- but very slowly. i have bfgoodrich t/a drag radial 2's and lost control, but from now on am definitely taking it slow in the rain.

Well, I'll be getting it towed to Lamotta's. I can't find a new wheel for it, and it can't be aligned with a donut on the front.

There was a guy on the registry that had the back wheel fall off of his mustang, and the drum came off next. He thinks the lugs were loose. I guess it's just a bad day for wheels.

Rain in Florida can be like driving on ice. I’ll be in the office today in the morning and early afternoon. So I’m close by, if you need a ride anywhere give me a call.

I still haven't moved the car from my house. I found a guy in town with some anthracite deepdish rims that I plan on looking at tonight or tomorrow... If that's what I like then I'll get the matching fronts later on. I'm thinking about waiting a couple of weeks and getting lots of things done at once... I think I can get a front k member and new suspension with just another check...

my Buddy with the two toned v6 from hooters... well he has 99 svt rims for sale with all 4 tires... tires on the back are on the wear bar but the rims are pretty mint. $300 but it might be able to be talked down.

Well he doesn't know the width off the top of hios head. but there 17's all around. I think he has 275's on the back and 245's maybe on the front. They came right off a 99/01 so whatever width that would be. If you want come look at em give me a call.

The one I've got for my nitrous? Here it is.

http://www.americanmuscle.com/3poniswawapu.html

Oh hell, you said window switch... That's my bad...

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/MSD-D...QQcmdZViewItem

This is the going price for these switches... You may be able to search around a little more and save $10 - $20.... I bought mine off of e-bay also, just call the selling company and verify that this will work with a v-6.
