no more drag racin' for me

this shit sucks! the local dragway where im stationed is gettin shut down. the last weekend of this month will be the last weekend they're open. the amount of street racin around here is probably gonna go up. i was told i might get orders next month, hopefully my next base has a dragway nearby.

only good thing about this is i wont be doggin my car to the max anymore for a while.

You better go as much as you can to get that thing under 12.9's!!! Practice maked perfect, and your running out of time to get perfect!

send me some dr's or slicks bro cuz theres no way I can get under 12.9 on that track, especially with the wheel hop after hittin 2nd gear now that i have an aftermarket clutch that grabs good

That sucks Will. I can relate. We have no tracks anywhere near here, and they wonder why street racing is problematic in this area.

Even on street tires you should be able to pull off a 12.9x. I had several 13.1s with my stockish Mach (CAI, shifter, midpipe and catback) with stock gears and Gatorbacks. I was only putting down around 285 rwhp.

Get some more seat time and put that bitch in the 12s.

the website of the dragway I run on says the track is 2,710 ft. above sea level and they have an altitude correction formula. the formula says my best et would be a 12.80 at sea level.

Yeah, that much altitude can make a big difference in times. The track I run at is 1054 feet but you couple that with heat and humidity and we generally see DA adjustments around 3000+ feet in the summer.

Likely even faster at SL as the density altitude at LACR is usually in the 4000-6000' range. We're headed to Famoso (Bakersfield) this friday (20th) if you want to come. Its a MUCH better track -gates open at 6pm.

BTW, I PCS next month & there is a track 3 miles from my house, LOL.
