yes it does.

it draws power from your motor when your a/c is on.
I have no idea how much but I will look into it.

I've been playing around with this lately...
I tried it once and it did seem to give me a bit more power, but all the other times I didn't notice much, so maybe it was just in my head.

You can always just turn it off anyways. that's what I was doing when I was trying it out to see if it actually is faster, just turned it off, along with my stereo. I THINK it gave more power but I really don't know, it's a very small amount if anything.

You could also get underdrive and alternator pullies at the same time, to free up power from your accessories (such as your AC) and put it to the wheels, so you could put your AC in and actually get an increase in power.

at WOT the a/c system will be shut off by the PCM to free up the power though.

everything makes my car slower. If I fart in my car on a hot day, it robs like 120 hp.

A/C is a parasitic loss on your motor because it is another pulley that has to be spun by the crank. It also adds weight to the car. If you remove it you might not feel it by the seat of your pants but you will see it in ET's and trap speeds a little.

well my 01 ranger was some economic edition crap so it was geared high in 4th & 5th so on a big hill i use to have to take em in 3rd and a 2.5 with a glasspack and duals did'nt sound to pretty at 4k or above had a pretty nice rumble at idle for a 4 cyl tho

even if you take out the a/c you still have to get an eliminator pulley which in turns, is another pully to spin, except its not as heavy.. so its pretty much a waste of money for .1 thousands of a second in the 1/4.....

Uhhh, no you dont. You can get the kit that moves the P/S pump up or the March Bracket that moves the Alternator over.

yea, what tony said.... I have the bracket that moves your power steering pump so you dont have to get that stupid pulley.
