damn, blown bearings... reminds me of the good ol days of BMX and packing bearings in hubs- blow a bearing and little BBs fly everywhere. so how bad is the damage?

If you're lucky, it didn't strip the teeth on the cluster or input shaft...... Might wanna ck the endplay when you put it back together also..

As far as I can tell, the damage is in the bearing on the input shaft. Ive got a bunch of stuff gathered up so Im thinkin I will give the auto a shot. Ive got a smallblock C6, full manual valve body, A1 Fairbanks 4000 stall, hardened drums and shafts, and a few other things. It should take me a good day, maybe 2 to put it all together. I will have to gut all the internals out of a BB case. My only problem is that the 4000 stall will ban me from the road. Oh well, It'll be fun to drive on the track

that is a pretty high stall- i know you have a 5.0 obviously, but what rpm does your powerband kick in? fox body auto... reminding me of Roundman from the good ol days of MF before all the drama lol

Im running a 351 Cleveland. Its basicall a small block motor with big block stlye heads. It starts to really make its power in the higher rpms, say, 4000, 4500 and redlines at 7300. Ive got the rev limiter set at 3200 for burnout and 7200 for redline.

oh, i that is a good motor and those numbers make since. my dad has a 351 cleveland in his correct craft (ford) ski boat. with water friction and huge weight, the top speed is about 50 mph though. ive driven stick only a couple times but it is much more fun than an auto to me. my next car is definitely going to be a stick, but you cant beat a finely tuned auto tranny's consistency.
