Anything over 40 is a good number. I've been working for a private carrier for the last 10 years, so I'm a little out of touch with what most for hire companies are paying. The last freight co I worked for was paying me 39/mile.

Yeah, I asked them about that but they assign you a truck and they won't pay the extra fuel costs for me to drive it back to where i live.
