Need some pointers on body work and paint.

Since this forum doesn't have a body & interior section I will post this here since it isnt really year, make , or model specific.

I have a 79 notch that I am doing some body work on. I need someone that does body work and paint for a living to contact me and lend me a few pointers and guide me in the right direction.
Please unless you know how to do body work and paint, dont just throw out suggestions. I am on a deadline here and cant be trying ideas just because someone "thinks" it should work.

Problems are:

pulled vinyl top off, removed glue now im down to the factory primer and some rust areas. I believe it can be removed with a DA sander. So its pretty much going down to bare metal on the roof areas. The rest of the paint is just old paint. I was planning on just scuffing it and using it as primer. But my problem is this. I need to be able to drive this car asap. So I have to get the top into the primered stage. But I dont want to be driving around with the top in 1 color primer and the rest of the body in scuffed up blue paint. So should I scuff the old blue paint and then spray the same primer on it that I use on the roof. This way the car should be all one color and I can drive it around in complete primer. Then when I get ready to send it off to paint. Can I just scuff and clean the primer from driving it?

Is there a black primer? I would like it to be in flat black primer if I am gonna be driving it around.

If your a pro body& paint person. If ya dont mind helping over the phone which I think would be easier to communicate PM me your phone # and name and I will give you a call.
