Honeymoon took a while huh? Heres why. (13 Pics)

As some of you know, I went on my honeymoon about 2 weeks ago. Well it was fun at first but kinda got messed up on the way back.

We are drivin to Florida from Colorado (Long Drive!) in my stanger, and it goes pretty well, I was excited to be with my new wife and to be going on a roadtrip so I can see the ocean for the first time.

Heres a pic of my excitement.

And here is one of the excitement on the stanger.

So we are drivin through Kansas and all the stories are true, there is almost NOTHING there. But anyway we hit this Huge storm, you know where all the cars have to park under all of the overpasses so they don't get into a wreck. So I park and crack open a beer and get through about 1/2 of it and I decide to follow a semi truck to get out of the storm so I don't lose too much more time. That was the only thing I would call an "incident" along the way there.

Well our 36 hour drive (with stops) comes to an end at our beautiful 2 bedroom suite. It was very nice, but I don't think they deserve the 4 1/2 star rating that they have... But nonetheless gorgeous. I have a video of the room but I just make an ass out of myself so I won't post that one!

Here is a pic of my wifey at the beach.

The 3 night stay of beach going sipping wine..... Well for me it was more like wine Jack and Budweiser Chugging.... but anyway it winds down and we are on the way back and we get out of Florida and we are just crossing into a small town called Tifton, Georgia, I'm just cruisin in the left lane, and well let me just say that this old guy must have hated his honeymoon......

This 79 year old guy in a Chrysler Town and Country sideswipes us on a right curve on I-75, we plow into the cement divider and we almost go over, we would have had I not turned the wheel, then we spin 2 1/2 times till we finally slam sideways into the wall again facing the opposite way down the interstate. I releas my death grip on my steering wheel and my wife after asking if she was okay and step out and look at the carnage. The older fella did stop but his van was actually driveable....

Pics of my car....

Here is what is left of my car......

My wife was admitted to the hospital with burns on her side from the seat belt, a cut that got two stitches, and hitting her head on the dash.

Pics.........

Well we meet this nice older couple from a church service that works with I-75 crashes and stuff. They reserve a room at the Holiday Inn at a discouted price. When we get the police report a few days later I call the insurance company about the wreck since I wasn't at fault I didn't call right away. I find out that the old guy and his wife didn't even call in the wreck.... So I was pissed.... We were stuck for a week and a half in that hotel and when they get us a rental car the car isn't even authorized to be driven anywhere but Georgia....

So I just buy a Greyhound bus ticket to Oklahoma since I was going to see my sister there anyway..... The bus takes 36 hours just to go from Southern Georgia to Memphis Tennesee.... So my sister just picks us up in Arkansas after we take another 4 hours just to get there.... My back is killing me from that and we just get a flight from Tulsa to Denver and my parents pick me up there. It took us about 2 weeks just to get from Florida to Colorado......

How is that for a honeymoon!!!!!!!

Well anyway here is the next thing, can anyone run me a few Vin numbers for my next mustang purchase!!!!!

man that sucks, but glad you are ok. We should all remember the member map in those cases and see if a fellow board member is nearby and might be able to assist.

I did think about that but I didn't have access to a computer.

But I turned out okay with the help of the Church and my Family! That should be noted though!!! If someone has nowhere else to go it would be a good idea.

Their Insurance gave me, well my mom, an offer of $5500 which I could pull that much out of a trade in to a dealer around here...... But I will be getting money for pain, inconvenience, hotel bill, bus and flight cost, work days missed, and my wife might be losing a scholarship cause of it too.....
