Hey guys, what kind of crankcase oil do I put in a 3 horse briggs 4-stroke? I can't remember...getting...old....

Whatever it is that briggs and stratton recommends. Usually a Home depot/lowes will know if you wander (and with you, wandering is normal) in and ask.

lol and of course, I just got back from there where I bought a new grass trimmer. Of course, I get home, go to start the lawnmower, and discover when I check the oil that's it's almost empty, cuz a friend of mine had it at his house doing some welding on it. We had it upside down working on it, and I neglected to check the oil before hitting Home Depot. Blargh

Apparently you can run 10w30 in it, but if you do this in an air cooled 4 stroke, the oil will really have a tendency to burn off and/or go south more quickly.

Thats OK MSO the one thats on there now makes as much HP as your engine. Its not worth the hassle of swapping it.
