Alright guys...I need your help.

I have taken it upon myself, and with the help of 1BadSnake. We are trying to put on a car show in Chesapeake for the va/nc and whoever else wants to come.

This is the part where I need your help. There will be competitions for the cars to compete in. Mind you this will all be audience choice, but what categories do you think a car show should have. Give me all the ideas you guys can come up with it. That are serious.

Lmao. I'm goin to advertise MM and the BMC not the black mustang club...different club that has some local guys in it. I also want to get the different shops in the area up there so they can talk to the people. Let the people know what kind of places are around, and get a feel for the guys who may end up working/tuning their cars. Also I want food there. But I'm starting off small.

So far I know there will be:

Best In Show
Best Audio
Best Visual
Best Engine

I need more ideas commin guys I want this to end up being annual, and large.

Don't be shy I take in all suggestions and give them a good thinking over.

Don't try and overdo yourself. start small with things you can control. then allow it to grow as your experience with managing/overseeing a car show grows. If you try to throw a huge carshow right out of the box you will quickly become overwhelmed and have a bad time.
Yiou know, maybe you only get one food cart and maybe you don't get a license to serve beer. Maybe it's a little smaller than you hoped and you can't give away as much cash as you would have liked. Thats what next year is for. you can add something else with each aditional year. and people will come as long as it was run well and you will have a better chance of running it well if you start small.

i would stay away from the beer ive always had more fun at car shows without the drunken morons running around starting shit or not paying attention running into the cars

i always see burnout comps as a crowd pleaser but yea cover the basics and +1 on the best paint

Trust me I am starting out small. I have big plans, but need to get a base, and a feel. Who knows I may move to a better location. I understand the basics of managing and overseeing from my job, but this is more for fun. I'm also going to invite the Mustang Club of Tidewater. Or get some help from them since they have a show n shine ever year.

First seperate them into catagories

1964-68

1969-74? i think

1974-78

1979-93

94-98

99-04

05-07

Then you add these to each catergory

Best paint (ORIGINAL)

best (ICE) In car entertainment

best graphics and custom paint (Air Brushing and Vinyl)

Best dressed engine or such

best interior

Originality

Best exterior look (What stands out most)

Best stock

Best modified

Peoples choice

Best in show....

Ive done a few car shows in my days, still do actually

but for all types of cars meaning more of an Auto fest

as much fun as a burnout contest would be, i dont think it'd be such a great idea.. gotta go through all the liability bullshit and nearby home owners will start complaining of the noise and retarded stuff like that..

Yea I would love a burnout comp, but it's something that I want to establish a good foundation first.

i think the four you listed would be a comfortable start... then once you start to see things that can be changed act upon it for the next time round

I agree that the burnout comp is a fun event, but in light of recent events it is a potential liability. I will look into the mobile dyno, but we probably will follow the K.I.S.S. principle for the initial one, including the classes. Too big too soon, makes for a kaotic time.

Yes it would, a regular floor dyno starts pricing at about 50k
