today i decided to go on a long motorcycle ride...





i was riding up to the mountains, on highway 410 towards Chinook Pass. i was on my Suzuki, my brother on his Buell. fun ride. we were going through a very windy section towards the top of the pass, just cruising along probably doing 50 or so, leaning around corners etc.. then we got stuck behind some old guy driving a van. he was going the speedlimit (35) and it was really irritating me. i follow him, waiting for a passing zone so i can safely go around him. after about 3 miles of following, it occured to me that there probably wont be a good passing zone coming up anytime soon so i said "fuck this shit" and gunned it. i swerved around him on a slight corner, approaching 75MPH and as soon as i was in the opposite lane i looked ahead in the distance to see a white SUV coming towards me. the moment i got back into my lane a bunch of blue lights came on in the SUV (white ford expedition) and i saw "State Patrol" written on the side of the vehicle.






FUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!









so a few things are running through my head at this point.


1. RUN.
2. PULL OVER AND BE ABSOLUTELY FUCKED.


i mean, theres no way in hell an SUV could catch me, i could escape.. i wanted to go, run, leave him in my dust. i mean he couldn't have read my license plate.. i could have gotten away. but i knew that my bike was not as fast as his radio so i pulled over..

he walks up to me, my hands were shaking. as he comes up to me, hes like

"goin a little fast?" uh yeah... DUH.
"got you doing 72, passing him around a corner in a no passing zone. the speed limit is 35."

i gave him my license, registration blah blah, and he goes back to his car and gets on the radio. i'm sitting there thinking that im fucking getting arrested and hes in his car for about 10 minutes.. he gets out and walks up to me with a piece of paper, man this isn't gonna be good.

he lectures me for a few minutes, talking about how many accidents he's seen on that road.. talking about bad habits and irresponsibility. i couldn't pay attention to what he was saying, i was just waiting to see how much of a fine was on that ticket. then hands me the paper............

Damn Bob - good ending to that story!! Hwy 410 is FUN AS HELL the further along the winding road you go. Makes me wanna go for a drive before the thunderstorms tomorrow.

Got to get me a Buell. Found a used one for $5K in Puyallup (for sale by owner) but I don't know crap about bikes. Maybe I'll go take a pic and post up. You tell me... Buell = Good or Bad. Looked pretty cool.

Well anywho, that was some terribly bad luck turned into a case of amazingly good luck I guess you could say. Lucky bastard. Once, I got a speeding ticket for "merging too fast for conditions" on Hwy 18 in Federal Way. Dumb luck is what I've got.

Friend of a friend got killed 2 weeks ago on his bike out in Lake Tapps somewhere, being an idiot on it of course... so be careful out there man.

yeah shitty luck is right! lol. i did get lucky that he didnt give me a ticket though.. anyways buells are pretty sweet man, my bro has the 07 lightning ss 1200. its a nice bike. it might not go 150 or anything but it will out corner any other bike out there. and its got some major torque too.

Basically a nice DD - speed irrelevant. Hopefully this winter I'll find someone willing to unload their bike for cheap, during the rainy-season here.

You def got lucky on that one though. I've heard of chicks getting warnings after they've cried their eyes out in front of the cop, but never a dude. 'Specially not on a bike.

guess what though, his bike might be a 1200, but he still got the EXACT same fuel mileage as me today. we both went 172 miles on exactly 3.1 gallons of gas. pretty good huh?
