I'm on Terminal Leave!

yep, today's my first day of terminal leave. i actually get out of the Navy in October, but i'm done as far as going to work. pissed me off, though: i can't check out of my command till Monday because my medical checkout isn't done. i did my separation physical Monday, but the Medical Officer is dicking the dog on bottom lining my paperwork. so i have to swing by on Monday, and once that's done, i can check out of my command. on the upside, though, i don't have to be in uniform since i'm on leave which means NO SHAVING! i know it may sound silly to some of you guys that i'm excited about not having to shave, but all the military guys here will back me up on that, right?

Amen to not shaving! I start my terminal leave in March and can't freakin wait!!!

Man I'm jealous! I am debating taking terminal leave or not before my EAOS of Mar 7 08. If I stay here till the end of feb I can keep collecting my extra pay. I'm kinda trying to put money away for when I get out which has been really hard since my wife has been without a job for going on 1 year. The extra money will really help out with the savings but man do I want out of this military shit. I can only keep getting my extra pay while I'm still at this command. Soo if I go on terminal leave and check out of the command I will lose it. Decisions decisions.

I'm signing up for the SEPT. TAP class but I already have all the paperwork and CD's they give out since my wife seperated about 1 year ago.

thanks to all. yeah, Doc, i went to TAP in June. wasn't a total waste of my time. at least it got me away from the shop (and my Chief) for a few days. as for the USNR recruiters, yeah, i'm laughing about that too. i've actually got this SK2 from Little Creek emailing me about twice a week asking me to call her so she can tell me about the Navy Reserves. i just keep deleting her emails. trust me, there's nothing very tempting about the reserves to me right now. i had a friend who got out a few years back and joined the reserves. 2 months after he got out, he was enrolled full time at Penn State and the Navy tried to send him to Afghanistan. he told them to go fuck themselves, in so many words.
