Horsepower numbers.......engine was dynoed today

First off I'd like to thank Charlie and Mike at The Race Shop for the time and effort they put into this project. Small block, production 351W block, just over 12:1 compression, TFS 225 R-series heads, Cam Motion solid roller, CHI intake and some other goodies. 702 horsepower at 7200 rpm right off the bat on their DTS dyno. Tomorrow we are going to mess with some timing and possibly jetting. Hopefully we can pick up a few more horsepower. Now its time to order a converter and get this thing buttoned up.

425. Same engine I had for sale. I was sick of the low ball offers I was getting on a price that was already low so I kept it and made a couple minor changes. Its still for sale because I plan on building a turbo motor for next year.

My goal is 8s naturally aspirated this year but I think I'm going to fall short of my goal.

Wow those are some awesome numbers. From the posts I'm assuming that's N/A. 12.5:1 compression and punched out to 425cid sounds great for a good street application....lol

Awesome car man.

Played with some jetting today but couldn't get much more out of it. It was so damn humid the top of the carb was sobbing wet with moisture. BSFC is .450 to .480. It makes 500+ foot pounds of torque from about 4500 all the way to redline and 500+ horsepower from 4900 to redline. We did not try a spacer. Time was an issue today. The intake could use some port work to improve distribution a bit. The front and rear cylinders run a bit warmer than the middle cylinders. The carburetor is a bit too big, the compression is considerably lower than I planned on and the camshaft probably isn't right because the compression ratio I gave them was over a point more than what the engine makes. I made some miscalculations and I planned on milling the heads which wasn't possible due to some clearance issues. So over all for a somewhat mismatched combination it does make good power. Charlie feels there is some power left in the carburetor with a booster change and some other fine tuning but for now I'm going to run with it.
