Well man I've been in the military for almost 8 years and done all sorts of jobs before and during the Military. I'm still trying to decide what is the best for starting a new life and something I want to do. I'm an IT right now but this shit bores me to no end. I prefer the basic trouble ticket type work where you get to interact with the customers and see how happy they are when you fix their system and teach them how to do it themselves for the next time. Really gives you a good feeling. I also like doing installs on big and small systems. Takes lots of time but after your finished and it is up and running you really get a sense of accomplishment. Another thing I like is Home Theater and Audio. I'm a big fanatic of that type stuff(hence why I have a 1300watt combined 7.3 surround system(7 yamaha speakers + 3 subs) with a 61" HDTV and misc other components).
I love working on cars as long as it's installing upgrades. I hate fixing minute shit like power steering hoses and rebuilding carbs. I can do those but they are annoying repairs. That is why I don't want to be a mechanic. I would love to get more training into automotive tuning/dyno tuning. Hell that would be a good side money maker. Open a dyno tuning company. Do nothing else but tuning and dyno sessions.

Anyways. Me and the wife plan on buying a house in the next year soo a solid income from both of us is needed. Houston has plenty of job opportunities soo I will just have to look and network with people. I still have a full GI bill to cover college but I hate school soo I don't know if that will happen for me.

Will have to catch up with you when I return to Houston in March 232stang. Have too see how things are working out for you.

Boeing is hiring. Working out quite nice for me. There's jobs open nation wide that start of 14-20 bucks an hour. 5 years you'll be at 40 an hour if you don't get fired.

Sorry 232. Best I could do.

Job hunting is terrible. Best of luck though... hope you stick a good one, one that you truly enjoy.

www.boeing.com <--- any of you who work near one should submit a resume' - what's the worst that could happen? (don't say layoffs - we just sold how many billions worth of the 787? boeing stock is through the roof!!! yeayuh!)

I almost joined the air force when I was 18/19... they would've paid my way through Embry-Riddle down in AZ but I neglected to join... now I have student loans. No fun. Loans suck big ones.
