ok so cops are dicks, sorry if anyone on here is a cop but this one was. So im on my way to get my tranny looked at this morning at 8. Im drivin in the second lane cause the freeway im gettin on is comin up and im goin about 75ish maybe a little more with the flow of traffic. This motorcycle cop( NOT CHP just a regular black & white) comes up behind me so i go shit, and slow down to 65. So he moves over a lane into a lane that gets off the freeway so i take a quick look at the directions and i accedentaly speed up cause im reading directions and then i look at my speedo and im goin 75 so i slow down and look in my rear view mirror and there he is with his lights on then he puts the siren on and so i immediatly pull over. He comes up to the window and askes for license reg. and proof of insurance. I respectfully say yes sir and get it and hand it to him. he goes to his motorcycle then comes back and says, you saw me getting over to exit and so you speed up to 85. Keep in mind i have never gotten a ticket or even pulled over so im nervous as shit and i dont want to argue with the cop and piss him off so i just say sir i was distracted cause i dont know exactly when im going cause im going to have my trany worked on. and he said so you looked at your directions going at a high rate of speed and i said yes sir becuse again im scared as shit and nervous and i dont want to argue. so he writes me up for 85. he was a total dick the whole time and he pulled a random speed out of his ass cause he didnt use his radar and not only is it impossible that i speed up 20mph in the 10 seconds he was in the other lane, but also there was traffic so he couldnt have speed up to see if i was even going that fast. so im taking that shit to court even if i loose i at least want to get it reduces some cause i was only going 75 not 85. sorry this is so long but i really needed to vent cause that was bullshit i was not going 85. he was a total dick to me and pulled a speed out of his ass cause im a kid so he thinks he can do whatever. but im gunna fight it in court, any suggestions on what i should say when i go to court?

im leaving work right now when i get home i will give you advice. first things first. look at the back of the ticket and see if it says that you need to subpeona the officer for him to be present in court. if it does you need to do that otherwise he will not have to show up and it will not be an automatic win for you if he doesn't.

ok so that will be somewhere on the back of the ticket? sorry this is my first ticket im clueless how this whole thing works besides that i show up in court and then i will need to go to traffic school to get it taken off if the judge gives me the ticket

Yea, i got pulled over yesterday, i was so pissed. I think i found the only cop in 50 miles, lol. He was cool though, sorry to hear yours was an asshole. Good luck with the appeal.

thanks man well see what happens. my dad says it will be around a $300 ticket for 20mph over plus $150ish for traffic school... this sucks

damn that does suck. Don't you have a first offenders warning or somethin? I got my first ticket over a year ago and the cop said since its my first speeding ticket, i only have to pay 10$, but if i get another ticket within a year i have to pay the full price of both tickets plus go to court.

ya that would be tight but i live in california, i have never heard of that, and most cops are dicks out here. that must be a thing in TN, maybe i should move out there

haha, seriously bro. That first offenders warning resets a year after you get it and goes off your record, so if your haulin ass a year later they'll give you another first offenders warning , its all good

alright dude well if you did read the rest of the thread you would have seen that i am admitting to speeding and it was my fault, the only reason i posted is to vent and ask if anyone knows how i can maybe get the ticket reduced becuase i was going 75 not 85 and thats a big price difference alright so back off and read before you open you damn mouth, sorry i dont have an endless amount of money and im trying to get some off, and dont tell me im not taking responsability cause i am im just not going to let some cop walk all over me just because im young. if you let people walk all over you and dont say anything when someone is trying to rip you off then your a pussy so back off and ill do whatever the hell i want to... how many assholes am i going to have to deal with today
