Gateway is a nice track in STL., Orielys ( formerly IRP ) is nice in indy, Those both would be nice in centralized for the easterners. Start tossing our some locations where you guys are at and we will see where we need to centeralize at. Sounds like alot of you are pretty interested in this idea so I think we should run with it. I dont mind helping out with organizing. But like zip said we need someone semi-local to wherever we go to help find a decent place thats not the Hilton Plaza. This will definitally have to be a deal for next year. Just to throw out and idea. World Ford Challenge is the ford car show of ford cars shows, Im not sure it will be in indy or st.Louis next year, but I have been to that show every year for the last 8 years, and am thinking this might be a prime candidate for a meet. Its always the third week in may. Keep the ideas coming. I think this is starting to take shape.

I'm willing to take some vacation time and make a trip to just about anywhere. I like to drive and see as much of the country as I can so I don't mind a road trip. I know that Virginia is a pretty much middle point with a lot of members already in the area. I was gonna make it to one of their meets buy my car decided to crash...

Anyhow, I'm up for a meet just about anywheres.

I have talked to/heard from a few others that havent shown up on this thread ( I think alot of the guys in the 05-08 forum dont make it to the clubhouse, myself being one of them ). So I think this might offset the central part. I dont know about Ohio or Kentucky, but if this were to go down in indiana, it would have to be in indy. Thats the only place where anything is going on, and the only good 1/4 mile track in the state ( Orielys raceway park ). Any ideas from Kentucky or Ohio?

Hey, MSO, as I say, I don't really care where it is, to a point, I'm willing to take a weeks vacation and make a road trip out of the deal. I'm obviously not driving to Cali or something & wasting the entire vacation driving, but let me put it this way: I'm going down to a meet with my other forum friends (I know - *GASP*!) in Myrtle Beach SC, and that's an 850 mile trip for me. So I don't really have a problem with that. I can bang off 850 in 14 hours and still have a beer in the evening when I get there.

Now obviously I am not saying I expect all others interested in this to drive that distance, I only ask that whoever shows interest in this try and think of the whole picture, and that the more centrally located we get this thing relative to the people that are coming, the easier it will be on everyone as a whole.

If we are really serious about this, I think we need to have a couple of sticky threads made. The first one has to be along the lines of:

We are planning on having a Modded Mustangs meet on XX/XX/2008. We would like to have as many people there as possible.

This thread is an idea thread. To give us an idea of where you live, are you interested in coming, and if so, how far would you drive to get to a meet? Would you be more interested in attending an event than just meeting up somewhere?

So, without whoring this thread up, just type out:

Are you interested?

Where do you live?

How far will you drive?

What city/event would you suggest?

Once we have a general consensus on that (and we have plenty of time to put something together for 08), and we find we have enough people interested to make it worthwhile, we can then start different threads with the specifics. IE: What date(s)? What city? What hotel? What event?

But we will never get this done if we just have a random thread with thirty different ideas, different subject matter, and pw'ing mixed in floating here in the clubhouse.
