a fan clutch? you mean a A/C clutch? and a/c clutch is in the A/C compressor and engages once the a/c is turned on. tell your bf to check the A/C pressure switch first.

there are fan clutches as well. some belt driven fans have them its an electric clutch to engage the fan to the belt.

yeah I was just thinking about that. fan clutches are a lot easier to replace than the a/c clutch...sometimes... lol
