GPS, scary thoughts....

I just had a little run with a LS1 Corvette and without thinking about it, I wasn't going to lose so I hammered it and in no time I reached 140+. When we got to the gas station he asked how fast did I go to because he couldn't catch. Ding ding ding!!! I went to the car and looked at my GPS. Now, here's the thing, after thinking about it, I don't really like the idea of having some "satellite" keeping track of me like this!!!!

I mean, what if there's a law enforcement agency tracking this kind of things? It got my top speed and constantly knows my speed!

I think more than balls, momentary stupidity really. In the moment it's hard to think, but then it sinks in. I've been faster than that, again must be the adrenaline. When we pulled into the gas station, an older gentlemen came to us telling us he gave us a break on the highway when we blasted by him, he was going to call the cops, but he didn't because the Mustang was beating the Corvette. He was driving a town car.... Kinda funny then came the yelling...

the feds cant track you liek that not only would there be a billion other gps units, they also would have no means to trace it back to you your gps unit does not transmit and lastly its against your rights to be tracked with out ur knowledge unless its a work vehicle or what not.

One thing you gotta watch for is the cars computer itself. I think they can go back after an accident and see your recent top speed. I dont know if it holds water in court but that sucks.

That Garman is nice...

Thats awesome! I wonder if my TomTom go 910 does that. I'm checking their site right now. I've had it for almost 1 year and it has never done that. I wish it would thought since I do speed runs like that all the time out here.

go figure, my limiter is set to 188 and I know I've been up to 160, at least. That's why I canceled the warranty anyway...

Yeah mine does all that jaz and even mows the lawn and gives weather updates and shit but I can't figure out if it can track my speed like that. Does yours have any external antenna or wires besides cig lighter power cord and mount?
