I do agree that kids today dont get the activity I got 20 years ago. I'm kind of young to have a 14 year old so I personally dont let my kids stay static. Im always movin and groovin with them. For their good and my own. I bought a membership but it wasnt to a gym. It was a family membership to the Museum. Believe it or not, its good exersize tooling around there and you wouldnt even consider it work!

Im a big believer in getting kids "trained" right about self image and health. I dont depend on school or a babysitter to do that. Im very pro active with their lives becuase I love them.

I can say I see some pretty old people having younger kids. Im not sure how good that is. Those parents are more likely to set the kid in front of a video game to keep them busy. Or they are quick to go through the drivethru so they dont have to mess with cooking. Its just observation and I dont have any facts to back that. I guess there are alot of issues that contribute to our obese image.

Maybe the world uses the word obese because of our materialistic natures and glutton. Im not saying we're all that way but the global media loves to portray us as the the evil horders of the west sometimes. Its became cool to hate the States over the last few years.
How the world see's us can also go into a whole other topic dealing with politics as well. But it's a known fact, and the Europeans love cracking on us beause of this weight problem.

I personally hate seeing every infomercial having to do with either super awesome knives or losing weight the fast, effective and safe way.

My kids are expensive. I complain about it all the time! But, I wouldnt trade them for the world. Id drive a K-car if I had to. My kids always come first. Always. From shoes to clothes to time.

My kids are in perfect shape by the way. They both play alot of video games but also swim in the pool and do cool shit with me and their Mom.

My kids are the most expensive things I have by far. It does suck that they are expensive but I wouldnt trade that for anything. That has nothing to do with laziness and fatness.

Thanks for the compliment. My kids are easy for me. I treat them how I want to be treated. since they were born I always tought them to "think" for themselves. Slow down take a deep breath and think it over... whatever it was.

I dont ever find myself complaining to the kids. Thats not fair to them. If my kids did get out of hand and start showing signs of a lack of motivation, I'd step in and get them moving. We'd sit down and put a plan in place to help. And whatever it was that they decided to do, we'd do it together. My home is a team. I know it sounds cheasy but it works. My kids know how much the elctric bill is. I dont tell them to scare them or make them feel guilty. I tell them because it makes me feel good to see them go out of their way to turn a light off. Its loyalty. Loyalty is a kick ass trait.

So if one started to have troubles with weight, we'd do it together.

Maybe we as Americans need to have more of an attitude like that. As a whole, as a nation. It really isnt that hard. We need to think less about ourselves as individuals and be a part of the whole solution. It needs to be done by coice not by law. Everything needs to change a bit.

Well, that was part of my point MSO . You have a "easy for me to say" position on the subject. Nothin wrong with where your at ,but you cant criticize the working class ,debt obligated citizens until you are one.

Thats not a knock on you ,it just isnt fair.

Yeah, all we do is sit at the table and pay bills.

EDIT - If anyone cares ,I work out 3 days a week and train in MMA....oh and I can rip sheets of paper with my bare hands.

I dont have a problem with saying a guy is in good shape. Why not? What, does that make me gay? Hell, I'll even tell you if he's good looking or a slob. So what?

Im more than completely comfortable with my sexuality.

Ok , you need to cast for a movie. You need a good looking leading man for a role. Do you choose Brad Pitt or Rob Schnider?

Noticing good looks doesnt make you gay or we all would be gay.

no, that doesn't make you gay, but if you had to use your hand to feel the texture of his buttocks to judge whether or not he is in shape, then i'd review my sexuality if i were you
