The way it was when you would have bought it this would have never happened. I changed the cam and intake which turned this thing into a higher rpm engine. Last year I shifted at 6500 and crossed the lights in the area of 8000 rpm depending on what gear I had in the car at the time. Now I shift close to 8000 rpm and go thru the lights around 8500 or so. This thing spend most of the run around 8000 rpm and I think that combined with the high valve spring pressures I'm running are what caused the failure.

Did you say that head is repairable? Wow that is going to take some magor grinding/porting and welding to make that resemble what it used to. Good luck with that. What were the specs on your High RPM V8? I love high RPMs.

The damage on this head is minor. You should see a bad head. I'll see if I can find pictures of the heads some of my buddies wrecked. I'd rather not disclose details on the engine at this time.

dont be suprised if the other side is just like the other three. when a valve breaks like that it shoots peices back up into the intake manifold where they are conveniently distributed to all the cylinders... and the motor is usually running at a steady rpm soo its like a little bruce lee goin crazy in your cylinders

The engine is apart. The other head is fine. Car was sold as a roller.
