Burger King

We had a topic in here a few days back that accused Americans of being fat and lazy. The topic is dead but I seen something today that was slightly impressive and a move in the right direction.

BK is now selling apple slices. They cut them in the shape of fries and sell them in a fry box. They are not cooked and served cold. Good for them on doing this. If you have kids, it gives you an option besides fried potatoes that they will like.

I personally hardly ever get fries anymore anyway. I never finish them so I stopped buying them. What sucks is that usually it doesnt save you much money to just buy the burger and a drink compared to a value meal. I guess now I'll opt for the apples.

I think more restaraunts should jump on board and make serious adjustments to their menus. To give the option also kind of gets them off the hook for serving only evil fattening foods.

Good for BK. Hopefully they dont go gay and start advertiseing with an ass like "Jerrad" and ruin the whole idea.

I've noticed a lot of people starting to eat healthier and getting out. It was a gorgeous day monday, so I washed my car, and was cruising down the beach with the top down, and I was amazed at the amount of people out running, or walking their dogs...just, getting out and getting active. I think we're starting to seriously address the health issue, and I admire that in the people that are doing something about it

Is it cold anywhere else in the country...Yesterday and last night was cold as fuck!

Oh yeah, they are doing good for serving apples, but i would love to see the number of people who get apples as opposed to those who still get the fries.

Is it just me or.....
When you see that it makes me feel proud to be an American? There's so many places on this planet that you cant do that. Such a simple thing. To have a safe place to walk your dog or jog. To have clean sidewalks. We are all blessed here and I admire the people who take advantage of it!!!

No doubt, I usually get a little smile when I see it. I used to work with a guy that was no kidding, like 300 lbs, and he whined non-stop about being fat, and didn't like going out to public places alot because he didn't want people judging him, but he would sit in his hotel room when we were TDY to Pt Mugu, Cali, and wait until one of the rental cars came back so he could drive it 3 blocks away to get Mcdonalds. I have no respect for people like that, but the people out doing something about it, gives me a lot of pride. Even if they're just walking around at a leisurely pace, they're not in front of the TV eating Ho-Hos

I live on a lake. Theres a trail that runs around it. From my living room, you can see the trail. Anyway, a few months back my wife and I noticed that at the same time everyday rain or shine there was this overweight awkward looking woman with way to tight of pants on "stumbling"/walking around it. Everyday we'd see her and it became kid of a joke around the house that at 6:30, the tights woman would be going by. Now its motivated us big time and we kind of "root" for her.

Ive never spoken to her but I'll bet she's lost 50 pounds in the last couple months. She doesnt walk anymore either. She JOGS! She isnt awkward anymore either. Im truley impressed with what we've seen. Its cool.

Theres alot of strange stuff people would buy if they put it on the menu. unfortunately most of the good stuff is still not profitble. Man Im hoping its changing.

I'd like to be able to get a cucumber in any form from a fast food place. Why couldnt they offer it cut with some onion dip. Id be happy to buy that over fries anyday. When its hot and humid out, vegetables and fruit digest a heck of alot better than fat.

Maybe it has more to do with the weather? IDK, when its cold and gloomy all the time, you crave more fats and calories. When its hot and humid, you just dont consume as much. There has to be a corelation somewhere.
