lol dude, if have less than 5 years of experience on a high powered bike, that zx-14, or any 1000cc or possibly 600cc bike for that matter is gonna kick your ass.. thats a terrible mistake to get a bike any more powerful than a 600cc (and thats pushing it) for your first bike
and depending on the situation, i think you'd be happier with the car, since the bike wont do youmuch good in rain or bad weather or for anything else other than just riding

yeah man, 250cc will never prepare you for a 1400cc bike.. i'd suggest riding a 600cc for several years (5-10) before you even move onto a liter bike, then after a few more years move onto a 1300 or 1400cc

Dude you are what 15 or 16? a bike like that will eat you for dinner. I don't care what you have ridden before. Just because you have ridden one doesn't mean you can handle it everyday. Go for the car.

+1 you will not might. You simply couldn't handle the power. Its so easy to hurt yourself on my 450 dirtbike, let alone a 1400cc street bike

i'm not gonna bu it now... just gonna buy it like in one years and bwal i'm not bashin ur opinion or w.e...
i understand that even a 15 mph crash can kill u on a bike... too much factors when in a bike... and yes i'm 15.. and just in case i'm not planning on going above the speed limit no matter what i'm not like those crazy dumbasses that do wheelies at 80 on highway... the only times i'm planning on hitting above the speed limit would be in a dragstrip..

in all honesty, a 600cc bike will surprise the hell out of you too.. we're talking about 117hp (i think i read that somewhere) on something that weighs a fraction of most cars with that much hp..
i know a few extremely experienced riders that own 1000cc bikes and 600cc bikes and they say that even the 1000cc bikes are too powerful to have fun with.. i mean one small slip of the throttle and your neck is broken bro.. the ZX-14 is good for ONE THING and ONE THING ONLY and that is racing for EXTREMELY EXPERIENCED RIDERS, not a 15 year old who doesn't even have a driver's license (no offense)

it's not your driving that you need to worry about man.
it's everyone else's. people don't seem to watch out for bikes enough and considering your age I doubt that you have the driving experience to handle situations that can and WILL arise on the streets.

The truth is, you CAN learn to ride anything...But clutch/throttle/braking/steering/leaning skills are going to change with EVERY bike you ride...If you feel comfortable on a 600cc, be ready to take a HUGE step...Even if you meet in the middle...1000cc bikes, IMO are the most anybody would ever need..Busas are cool, and look good, but really i think people get them just to say they have more cc's...The weight difference is crazy! I have been riding dirtbikes all my life basically, and been on crotch rockets since i was 16 and got my endorsement when i was 17. I would be afraid to stop on any type of hill with a 1400, just because of its size...Even with me being 6', my legs are too short for that andadd the hill and the size, well that could spell disaster.
I know you already said you are getting the car, but i want to continue! lol Bwal said it perfectly imo. 600cc bikes are actually perfect. Stock is fast. Get into exhaust, power commanders, and then sprocket upgrades, then they are wheelie kings...Most stunters prefer 600cc. they are relatively cheap, light bikes, with so much room for growth and improvement. But the 1000s are great for that too, I have never owned my own bike either...I have been riding the 5 or so my dad has had since i was 16... I am saving for a new yamaha R1 or Honda cbr1000rr
