It is actually the humidity that makes it worst. I want to turn on the a.c but my next month electric bill went up the roof....damn!

I thought SD was supposed to be cold.. The whole day we had smoke filling up the town so you couldn't really see in it.

Our forecast is calling for the 100 degree days here also.

Our area recognizes Bix Beiderbeck (sp) as a most influential jazz artist of our area. (before my time anyway) Every year we have a Jazz festival near the end of July. This year is was last week.

We have a 7 mile marathon every year (this being the 32nd one and my second) This year marked the 2nd hottest one on record. It's starts at 8 AM and you run the 7 mile course as best you can. I'm not fast but I finished. I got home about 11 am.

That afternoon I had to play with my band for Riverboat days in a town an hour south of here. It was over 100 degrees all day and we were on a doublewide semi flat bed in the baking sun playing from 3 pm. until 7. It was a grueling weekend for me to say the least.

I think I lost 15 pounds from being outside all day.

It cooled off greatly today. Got rain about 9 am, not a lot, but we're supposed to get T-storms later tonight.

What I would do for a nice rain right now. This heat is killing me...and other people litterally. Says that this is one of the hottest julys we have ever had.

Just be glad you don't live in Nebraska. 5 different wildfires started in the last couple of days, 4 which are totally out of control and burning a lot of grassland and trees. Its still cool here, just no more rain.
