Has your car ever had a problem?

If your car has ever had a problem, do you think it may have been from a certain modification? Also, do you think you would have had the problem anyway? I'm curious to know in order to learn what can be done differently. This way I might not make the same mistakes as I try to improve my car a bit.

So if you did have a problem, what would you do differently if you could do it all over?

Well if you have a 95 F-150 with a broken throttle body do not put a throttle body on there from the junkyard with an internal coolant leak it will fill up all the cyliners with coolant and hydro lock the motor then when you go and start it you will blow ther ring gear. i knw this from experience

motoblue underdrive pulley. it was a 42% reduction pulley on the crankshaft, made of aluminum, warped with engine heat, lost its true circular rotation and cracked my harmonic balancer.

other than that, no.

Whoooa. That sounds bad. Before you put it on, was the warping a known risk? I mean did you say to yourself " this is probably going to warp and crack my harmonic balancer"?

my dad bought a cobalt and everytime you took it around a sharp turn it sounded like something hitting the rear tire. we took it too the dealership twice before we discovered when it was built an assembler decided to play a joke on us by tieing a string with a nut onthe end of it inside the rear 1/4 panel. when we found it there was a note on it that read "took you long enough to find me"

holy shit, i almost forgot! about 2 months after i got my stang, i shot a plug out of the drivers side head. the previous owner had gotten the extended warranty on the car and it carried over to me, so ford covered it all. they actually quoted me over 3 grand to fix it. fucking stealerships...

no, most are aluminum for less rotating weight (more important to have less rotating weight than weight in general) and most are smaller. that was the smallest pulley made at the time. this was back in 04-05. but to answer your Q, no i did not expect it to warp.
