question about FWD


is it possible to get gears for a FWD car?

jus a random question one of my ricer friends asked me that i didnt know the answer to

yes... Hondas come with 4.56 gears or some number like that.

FWD sucks anyways.... wayyyyyyyy to much understeer... but they can be fun at times.

damn didn't know they where that steep but i guess a car with no torque needs high gears.

and they rev so hight that it also compensates with a close ratio gear box.

dont mean to get off topic here, but do 4 wheel drive trucks have to get ring and pinions in both front and back when they swap to a taller gear?

yes... otherwise it would bind and fuck up evrything considering the front or rear will be moving faster.

unless you have a 2 piece drive shaft like me

than you can swap out only one set

yeah... but you still can't use it with different gears, thus my theory is correct.

that is what i thought...because when i was younger, my dad put 4:30s in his 4wd and i was pretty sure he got two sets.

Well, I'm not sure how a transfer box works... it could prolly compensate for the lack of gearing on one side.

yea you can't run 4x4 with two different gears your front and rear would bind and even if they didn't your front and rear tires would be moving at two different speeds. unless you put really small tires on the front to compensate lol.
