Happy Thanksgiving to me!
Here in Canada it's Thanksgiving today. Yeah, ours is different than you guys'. lol
My wife is cooking a 10 lb. turkey right now, and the smell is driving me crazy!!

No excuses or i will drive up there and eat all your thanksgiving dinner myself...
I jsut had Brats for dinner and they were delicious...You would be surprised how many people have no clue on how to make brats...I had to educate some mofos... |

So usually if I'm home, it's just our immediate family having turkey. If I have more notice that I'll be home, we'll have more people here and enjoy the day. p.s. Cowboys @ Bills at 20:30 EST !  (okay it's not the traditional U.S. Cowboys/Lions turkey day tilt, but I'll take it. lol)

I really should head back to Kentucky one year for thanksgiving...I have not been home for one in over 5 years...But by next year i should be moved back there...So we will see... Around my family we always deep fry 2 turkeys...Dinner is served promptly at 1600...Most of my family and friends come over...Usually 25 people or so...Everyone brings a dish or 2...And normally each male that is of age buys a case of beer...They stash that in the garage...My grandpa says the belssing...We then have dinner...Everybody eats way to much and complains for a bit...We then break out about 7 or 8 bottles of my uncle jimmy's homemade wine...We drink a few and then all the men go to the garage (where all the beer is)...The ladies sit down at the house...They clean up after the dinner and then go out on the back deck and drink wine...The kids and such are inside the house watching TV and most are passed out by this time...Meanwhile in the garage us men are consuming large ammounts of beer...And then at 10PM we break out the verieties (sp?) of mason jars we have in the garage...Some clear, some blue, some with fruit in them...After that we are pretty much all spent so we all get our lawnchairs out...It is is raining we all put our lawnchairs in one fo the bays of the garage...And you guessed it...We pass the eff out...Wake up in the morning have thanksgiving breakfast...Which is leftovers fried or reheated or whatever we feel that morning...Bedtime comes early the day after thanksgiving...Mainly because my whole family is hung over... |
