How do you guys clean you engine??

Got any tricks, I want to do this tonight and wanted to know what you guys do to get her lookin new??

i just used engine degreaser and then spray it off with a hose..

i think i used the "gunk" engine degreaser or something like that.. it works pretty well

or the "foamy engine bright" works well too

does the engine need to be cold to do it, or is a lil warm ok

just as long as its not hot you should be fine.. a little warm should help get the grease to dissolve in the cleaner.. just make sure its not hot when you spray it off, you could crack the block

true. remember that the rapid cooling of any metal can possibly be damaging

less than a half hours work. just hose, engine degreaser (on cool engine) let sit for 15 minutes, hose, dry, armorall. done

I use a fine mist with a rag cuz i don't wanna completly flood the engine bay with water and mess something expensive up.

I have to get in and really clean my engine... its going to take a whole lot more than 15 minutes for me

so what about getting the coil packs and electrical components in general wet
ive been wanting to do this too so yea good topic

I heard if can mess up the coil packs if water gets in there... thats why my 4.6 will get a lil TLC, I am doing the 5.0 tonight so i am spraying her down haha

thats what i heard to so i dont think ill be doing it or let a shop with insurance do it so if they fry it they pay for it

i spray it all - battery, coils, spark plug wires, gaskets, etc. i just dont soak the air filter (which is blocked off from the engine bay anyway) i soak it all, rinse it all, allow to air dry, then armorall. the armorall gives it the luster
