no the premuim doesnt it has hdmi in the elite but you still need the addon drive for hd-dvd playback the unit will upconvert all dvds to 1080i, 720p

you cannot convert non HD media to HD. its impossible bud. the quality isnt there to begin with and the xbox cant pull it out its ass.

true the xbox can't do it but you can buy an hd dvd upconverter that brings dvd up to near HD quality. it doesn't look nearly as good as hd dvd but the upconvert helps alot if you don't have and hd dvd player.
